We hear the burden and the hunger for God in your heart and we stand with you in prayer together in Jesus' name for your job, your finances, and the healing you are asking for.

We thank God that you know without Him nothing will work out well and that you are turning to Him for mercy and love and blessing. That is the right place to turn. Jesus said in John 14:6 that He is the way, the truth, and the life and no one comes to the Father except through Him, and in Acts 4:12 there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. We rejoice that you called on the name of Jesus and asked for Him to keep and protect you and your family and friends, and we join you in that.

We also hear your sorrow when you say you are sorry for falling short and even sorry for just existing and feeling disheartened and jaded. We want to gently correct that thought with truth. You are not a mistake for existing. You were formed with purpose. Psalm 139:14 says we are fearfully and wonderfully made, and Ephesians 2:10 says we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works. Romans 3:23 tells us all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, so your confession is honest, but 1 John 1:9 promises if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, and Romans 8:1 declares there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. God does not turn away from a repentant heart that seeks Him. Lamentations 3:22-23 reminds us it is because of Yahweh's loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn't fail, they are new every morning, great is his faithfulness.

Regarding your promotion and the disappointment of only a few dollars more and the uncertainty about whether the position is secure or relevant, we bring that before the Lord with you. Our ultimate security is not in an employer or a title but in God Himself. Hebrews 13:5 says he has said, I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you. Proverbs 16:3 says commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed, and Colossians 3:23 says whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men. We encourage you to continue to work faithfully and honestly where God has placed you while trusting Him with the negotiation and the outcome, and to seek wise and humble communication with your employer about the terms that were promised.

We also pray for your finances not with a spirit of greed but with trust that God knows your needs. Matthew 6:33 teaches seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well, and Philippians 4:19 says my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 calls us in nothing to be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, to let our requests be made known to God, and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, and 1 Peter 5:7 says casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. And when you feel your hope and mind and faith are weak, Isaiah 40:31 promises those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength.

We pray together now.

Father, in Jesus' name we lift this dear one to you. Thank you for drawing this heart to yourself and for hearing every cry. Pour out your mercy and love and forgiveness where there has been sin and shortcoming, and wash away condemnation and the lie of being unwanted. Heal this heart, heal hope, heal the mind, heal faith, heal the future and heal love as requested. Let your presence be felt, for one word from you changes everything, for you spoke and it was done in Psalm 33:9. We ask for your provision financially, for wisdom and favor in this promotion negotiation, for clarity about this position and for stable, honest work with good pay that honors you and provides for needs. Give peace that guards the heart, renew strength where there is weariness and jadedness, and keep and protect this life and family and friends under your hand. Help us to seek you first and to trust you with all things, believing that you are working all things together for good for those who love you in Romans 8:28. We ask that you give yourself more fully and draw this heart fully to you, that in you there would be fullness and security that no job can give. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

We hear how heavy this has felt, waiting for a promotion that was supposed to bring security and then seeing only a small change in pay while you are still told it is being negotiated. That kind of uncertainty can leave anyone feeling stretched thin, jaded and even apologizing for just feeling tired. Wanting to be close to God in the middle of it, as you put it, wanting Him and needing Him, is itself a prayer He hears.

We want you to know that feeling disheartened does not mean He has turned away from you. You asked Him to heal your heart, your hope, your mind and your faith, and to keep and protect you and your family and friends. We are joining you in that very prayer for His nearness, mercy and steady care.

One small step that can bring a little steadiness while you wait is to get what you have been told down on paper. When you have a quiet moment, note what was promised, what has actually changed so far, and what you were told is still being negotiated, with dates. Then ask for a brief, calm meeting with your manager to confirm the timeline and next steps in writing. Having it clear can ease some of the spinning and give you something solid to plan from. If the financial pressure feels overwhelming, a trusted pastor or a financial counselor at your church can also help you look at a short term budget together.

Father, we bring our friend before You in Jesus' name. Thank You that You see them and love them and do not turn away. Pour out Your mercy, touch their life, heal their heart and hope where they feel worn down, and give wisdom for each conversation and decision ahead. Keep and protect them and those they love, and draw them closer to Yourself each day. Amen.

Your prayer has been laid before the Lord and we have carried it with you to the throne of grace. The need you describe is one that many of God's people have felt, when the promise of greater pay and greater security proves to be smaller than was hoped, and the heart is left anxious about what tomorrow will bring. We have prayed that the Lord Himself would be your portion first, and then that in His wisdom He would provide for your daily bread and establish the work of your hands.

Do not be so affected by these temporal things as to get into a state of worry and distress. Our Saviour says to His own, do not be anxious about your temporal affairs. Be prudent and diligent in the place where God has set you, but remember that anxiety has never comforted any soul, nor has it ever brought grist to the mill or meal to the barrel. It unfits you to meet the very difficulty it fears. What you need is not more fretting, but more childlike confidence in your heavenly Father, even when He seems to frown. Come as Job did, who though tried to the uttermost, sinned not nor charged God foolishly, but fell down and worshipped.

You write that you are sorry for falling short, for being disheartened and jaded, and that you cannot make it without God. That confession is itself a mercy. A broken and contrite heart He will not despise. Who can contend with his Maker over a matter of holiness, for we are wrong and God must be right. Yet when Job retracted his pleadings and saw the Lord more vividly, the Lord turned again his captivity. Our longest sorrows have a close, and there is a bottom to the profoundest depths of our misery, when God has gotten His good end in them, which is to show His grace, to defeat the enemy, and to bring His child nearer to Himself.

We have therefore prayed for you in this way, that the Lord would pour out His mercy and love upon you, that He would forgive your sins through the blood of Jesus Christ alone, and give you Himself as your greatest blessing. We have asked that He would heal your heart, heal your hope, heal your mind and your faith, and that He would guard your future in His hands. We have asked that He would grant you, if it be His will, a secure and honest provision for you and your household, that your present position may be made stable or that He may open a better door, and that you may know contentment and prudence in all your temporal affairs. We have asked that He would bless and keep and protect you and your family and friends, and let you feel His love not only in the gift but in the Giver.

One thought from the Lord in your direction can indeed improve everything, for His favour is life. Though He slay all earthly hopes, yet may you be enabled to say, yet will I trust Him. He who kept Job in his ashes can keep you in your uncertainty, and He who restored Job at the last can in His own time turn your captivity also.

Continue to seek Him, to cast all your care upon Him for He cares for you, and to rest in Christ who alone is our salvation. We will continue to bear you up before the Lord, that you may have fresh strength, as Job found his bow renewed in his hand, and that your glory may be fresh in you through the grace of God.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
