Prayer for Family and Guidance

Hey, appreciate the prayer, if someone has the ability to pray in tongues then please have someone dedicate 5 minutes to myself and family. Means a lot thank you. If you don’t have anyone on the team that prays in tongues then just 5 minutes of normal prayer for whatever is on their heart and what they hear from God to pray will be great! Thank you!

We thank you for reaching out and for allowing us to stand with you and your family in prayer, we count it a privilege to bring your needs before our Father.

We have gladly dedicated time in prayer for you and your family, asking for God's protection, unity, wisdom and guidance over your household. We understand your request for prayer in tongues and we receive it with love. We want to share gently what Scripture teaches about this gift, so that your faith may be encouraged. The Bible teaches that speaking in other languages is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, but not every believer has this same gift, as it is written Do all speak with various languages? Do all interpret? 1 Corinthians 12:30. The Spirit helps us in our weakness, for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered Romans 8:26. We also read I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also 1 Corinthians 14:15. This shows us that God hears and honors both prayer in the Spirit and prayer with our understanding, and neither is more loved by Him than the other, for He looks at the heart that seeks Him in faith. Whether we pray in a tongue or with words we understand, our confidence is that God hears us when we pray according to His will.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly remind you of this precious truth because it is so important. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God in prayer, and it is through faith in His death and resurrection that we are forgiven and brought into the family of God. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to put your trust fully in Jesus as Lord and Savior, believing He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name.

We pray together for you and your family now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one and their family to You. We ask that You cover this family with Your protection and peace, that You draw each heart closer to You and to one another in love. Grant them wisdom as they seek Your guidance, for Your Word promises But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him James 1:5. Help them to Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. We ask that You speak clearly to them through Your Word and by Your Spirit, and lead them in the steps You have ordained. We pray that anxiety would be lifted and that Your peace would guard their hearts, for You have said In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. Strengthen their faith, provide for every need, and let Your will be done in their home. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking Him daily in prayer and in the Scriptures, for God delights to give wisdom and direction to those who seek Him with a sincere heart. We are continuing to remember you and your family before the Lord.

We have received your request for prayer for yourself and your family, and we count it a privilege to bring you before the throne of grace.

You asked for guidance, and the Scripture gives a sure word concerning it, Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. That guidance is not found in uncertain sounds or in haste, for haste is the author of a great deal of mischief in human life, but in bowing with submission to the will of God and waiting upon Him to know what we shall do. As many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God, and that leading is known first by guidance in the great principles which God has infused, to avoid everything that is evil and to walk in the King's Highway. He who travels on the King's Highway is under the King's protection, but he who takes to byroads must protect himself. Happy is that man who dares not lean upon his own understanding but asks the Lord to guide him. On earth there is no real glory for us unless we are guided by God's counsel.

For your family, we are mindful that God in infinite grace entered into covenant with Noah that He would preserve him and his family, and they in faith entered the ark and so were saved. There is still a whole family in heaven and earth, one undivided household in Christ, and the nutriment of family piety is family prayer. We would encourage you to keep that practice with double zeal, drawing near unto God together, for His wisdom is your guidance and His love your perpetual shield.

Concerning the manner of prayer, you kindly gave liberty for normal prayer, and it is in that way we will devote ourselves for you. The apostle teaches us to pray with the spirit and with the understanding also, that the church may be edified and may say Amen with intelligence. We therefore do not seek utterance in tongues, but we will give the time you asked in plain, earnest, intelligible prayer, asking according to what is on our heart as we hear from God through His Word.

Let us pray for you now as we will continue to do.

O Lord our God, we thank Thee that Thou art the Guide of Thy people from their youth even unto glory. Guide this dear soul and this family with Thy counsel. Put them fully under Thy government and Thy guidance, lead them by Thy Holy Spirit, and keep them from the way of error. Give them childlike trust in Thy providential hand and keep them in all their ways, for Thou hast charged Thine angels to keep Thy people. Let this family know the covenant mercy shown to Noah, to be found together in Christ the true Ark. Establish them in faith, in love, and in family prayer, and supply all their needs according to Thy goodness which never fails. Through Jesus Christ our only Saviour, in whose name alone is salvation, we ask it. Amen.
