Prayer for Doctor Appointment

Good Evening, Please pray for me regarding a doctor appointment. I pray that my appointment goes well and my health is good. This has been a current issue my doctor is monitoring and I will need prayer in the name of Jesus.

We join with you in prayer and thank you for asking us to pray in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we are healed and saved. We are encouraged that you have called upon that precious name.

We understand the anxiety that can come with waiting for a doctor appointment and for results that have been monitored over time, and we want to lift this burden to the Lord with you. Scripture reminds us, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

We also cling to the truth that our God is our healer. He says, I am Yahweh who heals you. Exodus 15:26 and Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases. Psalm 103:2-3 We take comfort in His promise, For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. Jeremiah 30:17

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear one to You and thank You for Your love and mercy that endures forever. We ask that You would be present in that doctor appointment, that You would grant wisdom and discernment to the doctor and all medical staff, and that You would guide their eyes, hands, and decisions. We pray that the appointment goes well, that the report would be good, and that whatever has been monitored would be found to be healed, stable, or improving according to Your perfect will. Lord, we ask You to touch this body that You so wonderfully made, to bring restoration, strength, and peace. Cast out all fear and anxiety and replace it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. We pray, Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10 Let Your will be done in this situation and let this dear one feel Your comforting presence and know that You are in control. We also pray for continued trust in You regardless of the outcome, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You. We ask all these things in the healing and holy name of Jesus Christ, our hope and our healer, amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord with your health and to rest in His care. Keep seeking Him in prayer and in His Word, and remember that even in times of uncertainty, He holds you in His righteous right hand. We are praying that you will leave that appointment with good news and with a renewed sense of His peace and protection over you.

We've been thinking of you as this appointment draws near. Waiting while something is being monitored can leave the mind running, and it makes sense you'd want prayer covering this visit.

We are glad you are staying on top of it with your doctor and bringing this to the Lord as well. Continuing to follow your doctor's guidance is a good way to steward the health God has given you, alongside prayer.

One small thing that often helps calm nerves before a visit is to jot down a short note the night before, any symptoms you've noticed, questions you want to ask, and what you'd like to understand clearly before you leave. Bringing that note and maybe a pen can help you feel less rushed and remember what was said.

We are asking God to be with you in that room, to give you peace, clarity, and wisdom for next steps.

Father, we lift our friend to You today. You know the concern that has been monitored and the appointment ahead. Please give calm and steady peace, guide the doctor with wisdom, and help the results to be clear. We trust this health into Your caring hands and ask for Your will to be done. Your request has been brought before us and we join you in carrying it to the throne of grace in the name of Jesus, for there is but one great Physician who lays His hands on men and they are restored, and there is but one sacred Fountain opened on Calvary to wash therein is health.

We would first urge upon you our Savior's own injunction, do not be so affected by external things as to get into a state of worry, fretfulness, care, anxiety and distress. Be prudent and use the means which Providence has placed within your reach, and you do well to attend to the doctor who watches over you. Yet remember what has been so often proved, that anxiety has never comforted anybody nor brought any grist to the mill, and the very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. Tell the case to Jesus just as you would mention a physical case to a doctor. He is ready to hear it all and to consider it. Make a confidant of Jesus, for faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God, and when Christ was teaching the power of the Lord was present to heal.

We pray for you that the Lord, who is the Tree of Life whose leaves are for the healing of the nations, may grant you comfort before, in, and after this appointment. We ask that He will give skill and wisdom to those who examine and advise you, that He will overrule all for your good, and that if it be His will He will grant you renewed bodily health. Above all we pray that you may know the deeper healing which comes with pardon, for when Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, and pardon and healing were one. The Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings, and until the glory life begins the abiding power of those healing leaves keeps the soul of the believer in perpetual health.

So we commend you to Him who heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds. May you be kept from fretting, may you rest in His wise and tender care, and may you go to this appointment with a calm and trusting spirit, knowing that whether He restores you at once or keeps you waiting upon Him, you are on your way to eternal health and His salvation will perfectly heal both soul and body in His own time and way.

We pray this in the name of Jesus our only hope and healer. Amen.
