Prayer for assessment

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Please pray for my assessment to go well! I have two this afternoon! I've been working hard and don't want to be blank when I go and present. Please pray I remember what i'm talking about and have peace, confidence, courage, and joy in doing them! I'm kind of excited (to get them finished) but still nervous.

We join with you in prayer for your assessments this afternoon and we rejoice to hear that you have been working hard and diligently preparing. We understand that mixture of excitement and nervousness, wanting to remember what you have studied and to present it well, and we bring these very requests before the Lord together.

The Lord sees your diligence and He delights in your faithfulness to do your work well, for it is written, Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23 and Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed Proverbs 16:3. Your hard work is not in vain, and we pray that He will bring to your remembrance all that you have learned and give you clarity of mind as you speak.

We also pray for that peace and courage you asked for, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. When anxiety rises, we are reminded, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We pray that this peace will guard your heart today, that you will have confidence not in your own strength alone but in Christ who strengthens you, and that you will experience even joy in presenting what God has helped you prepare. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or dismayed, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go Joshua 1:9.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and confidence in prayer. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by trusting in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we are saved and can boldly approach God in prayer. We encourage you to place your trust fully in Him, both for your assessments and for your life.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. We thank You for the diligence and effort they have put into preparing for these two assessments. Lord, we ask that You calm their nervous heart and replace anxiety with Your perfect peace. Grant them a clear mind, a good memory, and words spoken with confidence and grace. Give them courage and joy as they present, and let them do all for Your glory. We ask that You establish the work of their hands and let the outcome reflect Your goodness. Help them to rest in Your presence, knowing You are with them in that room. We pray all these things in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.

We are cheering you on today and we hear that mix you described, excited to get these finished, nervous to walk in and present, and wanting to remember what you have worked so hard to learn.

You have already done the faithful part by preparing well. That effort matters, and we are praying that when you stand up this afternoon your mind stays clear and you can share what you know with calm and steadiness.

One small thing that often helps right before presenting is to give yourself a brief pause between the two assessments. Step aside for a minute, take a sip of water, glance at just your main points rather than trying to rehearse everything, and quietly ask the Lord to steady you for the next few minutes. Then trust the preparation you have already done.

We are holding you in prayer for this afternoon.

Father, we lift this dear one to You as these two assessments approach. Thank You for the diligence You have given them. Quiet their nerves, help them recall what they have studied, and fill them with Your peace, confidence and joy as they speak. Let them know You are with them in the room, and help them rest in having done their best. In Jesus' name, amen.

Thank you for sharing this request concerning your assessments this afternoon. It is altogether natural to feel both excitement and nervousness when you have labored diligently and now must stand to present what you have prepared, and it is wise to bring that mixture of feelings to the Lord.

The Scripture gives a most blessed promise for such a moment, "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You." That perfect peace is not found in having every word perfectly rehearsed in your own strength, but in having your mind stayed upon Christ. As one hymn puts it, the blood of Jesus whispers peace within, and to do the will of Jesus, even in thronging duties like these assessments, is rest. When your heart is fixed on Him, He keeps you in that peace which passes all understanding, a peace which He Himself gives and which the world cannot give or take away.

You have asked for remembrance, for peace, confidence, courage and joy. Remember that anxiety itself often unfits us to meet the difficulty, while faith fits us for it. The Lord who has helped you to work hard thus far is able to help you in the hour of presenting. Like Daniel, who was focused on God and therefore continued at perfect peace, you may look to the Lord beforehand and in the moment, committing your work to Him and then proceeding with calm diligence. True confidence is not self confidence, but a quiet reliance upon God who is with you, and true courage is to do what is before you faithfully, trusting the outcome to Him.

We join with you in prayer for this afternoon.

Our Father, we thank You for this one who has worked diligently and desires to honor You in these assessments. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have peace with God, that You would keep this Your child in perfect peace as their mind is stayed on You. Grant clarity of thought and remembrance of what has been learned, guard against blankness and confusion, and give calmness of heart. Bestow confidence not in self but in Your presence, courage to speak with grace and truth, and joy even in the midst of pressure. Let Your peace, which is a blessing and the fruit of Your Spirit, guard heart and mind. May all be done for Your glory, and may there be a sweet rest in having done it faithfully before You. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

May the Lord be your strength as you go in. Cast your care upon Him, do your best with a quiet heart, and leave the result in His hands. He is the God of peace, and He will be with you.
