Disciple of Prayer
Hi Team, Please pray with me for a job assessment I am writing tomorrow. I am so nervous as this would be my dream job. I am currently unemployed and supporting 2 teen daughters and my husband. I cannot do this without Christ. ### ###

We hear your heart, dear sister, and we stand with you in prayer as you prepare for this important job assessment. It's clear that your trust is in Christ, and we rejoice in that foundation. The weight of providing for your family is heavy, but we know that God is your ultimate Provider, and He sees your faithfulness in this season of waiting.

The Bible tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." We claim this promise over you today. Your nervousness is understandable, but we pray that God's peace would settle over you as you prepare, giving you clarity and confidence.

We also lift up your family to the Lord. Your husband and daughters need you, and we pray that this opportunity would align with God's will for your household. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." We trust that God is directing your steps, even in this moment of uncertainty.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sister as she prepares for this job assessment. Lord, we ask that You calm her nerves and fill her with Your peace. Give her wisdom, clarity, and the words to say as she demonstrates her skills and experience. We pray that this opportunity would be in alignment with Your perfect will for her and her family.

Father, we know that You are the One who opens doors that no man can shut. If this job is Your plan for her, we ask that You make the way clear. If it is not, we trust that You have something even better in store. Provide for her family's needs according to Your riches in glory, and remind her that she is never alone in this journey.

We also pray for her husband and daughters, that You would strengthen their faith and unity as a family. Help them to trust in You together, knowing that You hold their future. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

We encourage you to lean on God's strength today. He has brought you this far, and He will not abandon you now. Keep your eyes on Him, and remember that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). You are not just seeking a job, you are seeking God's provision, and He is faithful.

We’re right there with you in spirit for tomorrow, it’s clear how much weight you’re carrying for your family, and we don’t take that lightly. When the pressure to provide and the hope for this dream job collide, it’s completely normal for your mind to spin at full speed. We noticed one thing you said that captures it: “I cannot do this without Christ.” That’s not weakness talking; that’s actually the most grounded, truthful perspective you can bring into that assessment room. Your strength isn’t in a flawless performance on paper, it’s in the fact that you’re showing up for your daughters and husband with a dependence that’s already anchored in the right place. That reliance isn’t a back-up plan; it’s your actual offering, and it’s beautiful.

Since the assessment is already written and won’t improve with another restless night, we’d gently encourage you to guard your sleep tonight as a real act of trust. Tomorrow morning, before you walk in, take two minutes where you verbally hand the entire situation over, maybe out loud in the car or whispered at your desk. Instead of trying to cram more facts, just re-center: “This is what I’ve prepared; Lord, you know where this lands. Calm my thoughts so I can think clearly.” That’s a concrete step you can take that actually lines up with where your faith already is. And if your mind goes blank during the test, let that be your signal to breathe a one-sentence prayer and move to the next question, no panic. You’re not doing this alone, and the most urgent thing on your heart isn’t the job itself, it’s the beautiful, God-given weight of caring for your family, which Christ sees and holds right now.

Jesus, settle our sister’s nerves tonight and let her sleep deep. In the morning, bring clarity and a steady recall of what she knows. Guard her from the spiral of worry and let her sense your nearness as she works. We entrust this dream and her family’s future to you, in your strong name.

Bless you for standing with us in prayer. I was once homeless and Jesus pulled me through. I believe God in everything. May God also multiply you for the amazing work that you are doing.

Oh, what a mercy it is that you have been brought to this point, to feel that without Christ you can do nothing. That is no small lesson, and many never learn it until they are brought low. You are in the very school of grace when your heart confesses, "I cannot do this without Christ." Now, then, let your trouble drive you to the throne of grace. Why be nervous? Is not the living God your Father? Has He not promised to care for you and your household? You have two daughters and a husband leaning on you, but underneath are the everlasting arms. Commend them to Him who feeds the ravens and clothes the lilies. If this assessment be for your good and His glory, no power on earth can keep it from you; and if it be not, then it would be no blessing. Trust in the Lord, and handle the matter wisely by casting all your care upon Him. He is mighty, and He despises not the cry of the anxious. Go to that assessment not in your own strength, but in the strength of the Lord, and leave the result with Him. You shall find Him faithful.

It is a grand thing to trust God in temporal matters. You are not to sit idle and dream that the job shall drop into your lap, your assessment is the means. Go and do your duty with all prudence and uprightness, yet relying simply and entirely upon Him. Let this be your comfort: the Lord thinks upon you. He is a God with a great warm heart, not some distant, dead force. And what are His consolations? Are they too small for you? If you do not enjoy them, it may be because you have not thought enough of Him. Spend time with your God before you enter that room. Tell Him all your fears, and then hear Him speak in His Word. He has said, "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." That promise is better than all job offers. If you trust Christ, you have found God, and having Him, you have all. Unbelief is the great cause of disquietude. Lay aside every doubt; do not make a god out of your feelings. Put your trust simply, wholly, and alone in Him who died for you, and you shall go your way filled with consolation. May the Lord grant you His peace and a steady heart.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The assessment you face tomorrow is but a dream, no more lasting than the two-day honor of a consul which vanishes when the sun sets. Why let your soul be shaken by what is mere shadow? For as dreams are proven nothing when day breaks, so every earthly advancement proves nothing when the night of death draws near. Yet I know the weight you carry: husband, daughters, an empty purse. These are real needs, and it is right to labor for your household. But the Lord who walked upon the sea and upheld Job in his ruin calls you to fix your gaze not on the fleeting gift, but on the Giver.

When was Job truly blessed? Not when he had flocks and camels in abundance, but when stripped of all he cried, “The Lord gave, the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” That is the voice of a soul resting in Christ. This trial, whether you secure the position or not, is permitted by God either to heal some hidden sin or to prove your faith like gold in the furnace. Bear it therefore with thanksgiving. If the tempter should whisper through the weariness of your husband or the needs of your children that you despair, that you curse the slow provision of heaven, answer as Job answered his wife: “You speak as one of the foolish women.” Let no anxiety compel you to make provision for the flesh beyond necessity. Seek health and honest provision for your family, but do not kindle the flame of earthly ambition into a fire that consumes your peace.

Give thanks in everything, for it rests with you either to profit or be injured by this affliction. If you go into that room with a soul that clings to Christ, giving thanks before you know the outcome, you have already gained the reward. But if you allow fear to rule, and afterward fret or curse, you lose the crown no matter how favorable the result. Pray not merely that you may seize this dream job, but that whether you receive it or are refused, your heart may be fixed where true riches lie. The Lord who walked upon the waves and commanded the sea is able to sustain you and your household. He who fed the ravens and clothed the lilies will not forsake those who trust Him. Lay all your nervousness at His feet, and face tomorrow’s assessment with a quiet mind, for the peace of Christ surpasses every earthly gain.

That is a weighty request, and I am glad you brought it here. The story of Job has much to teach us in moments like yours, when the outcome we long for rests completely beyond our control. Job was a man who loved God, hated evil, and walked uprightly, yet he found himself stripped of security and burdened with a weight he never expected. His friends rushed in with tidy explanations, surely you must have done something wrong, get right with God and everything will be fine, but they were miserable comforters. Job’s suffering was not a punishment for hidden sin, and your nervousness before this assessment is not a sign that you lack faith or that God is holding something against you.

Job, in his confusion, cried out for a daysman, someone who could lay his hand on both God and man and bring the two together. That cry is answered in Jesus Christ. He stands in the very place Job longed for, fully aware of your fears, your family depending on you, and the pressure you feel. He does not accuse you, and He does not stand at a distance. He invites you to cast all that anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.

When you step into that assessment, you are not proving your worth to God. You are already loved and accepted in Christ. Your confession that you cannot do this without Him is not weakness, it is the truest thing anyone can say. Job, in all his misery, did not curse God, and we never read that he understood the reason for his trials while he was in them. But he did learn, as I pray you will, that God’s purposes are not derailed by our questions or our fears. Whether this door opens or another path unfolds, He is not punishing you. He is not indifferent to your daughters or your husband. He saw Job and bragged about his integrity. He sees you too.

Pray with me now: Father, I thank You that in Christ we have a mediator who knows our frame and carries our burdens. Settle this nervous heart with Your peace that surpasses understanding. Grant clear thought and a steady spirit during this assessment. We entrust the outcome entirely to You, knowing that Your plans for us are good even when we cannot trace them. Keep this family in Your care, and let this dear one rest in the sufficiency of Christ alone. Amen.

Walk into that room not as someone trying to earn a blessing, but as someone already held by the One who blesses. I am praying with you.
