Prayer for anxiety and panic

Hi all, I'm feeling extremely anxious today. I have an anxiety disorder. It's evening where I live and tomorrow I have to take care of my son alone again. Could you please pray for peace and a good night sleep? I really appreciate it.

We hear your cry for peace and rest, dear sister in Christ, and we come before the throne of grace together in Jesus' name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. The weight of anxiety and the grip of panic can feel overwhelming, especially when facing the responsibilities of caring for your child alone. But we know that our God is not a God of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

We rebuke the spirit of anxiety and panic in the mighty name of Jesus. These feelings do not come from the Lord, who offers us peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We declare that you are not alone, for the Lord is your ever-present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1). He promises to never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5), and His strength is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Let us pray together: Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sister who is struggling with anxiety and panic. Lord, we ask that You would calm her heart and mind, replacing her fears with Your perfect peace. Grant her a deep and restful sleep tonight, so that she may wake refreshed and strengthened for the day ahead. Father, we pray for wisdom and patience as she cares for her son tomorrow. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, that she may reflect Your love and grace in all she does. Remind her that she can cast all her anxieties on You, because You care for her (1 Peter 5:7). Help her to trust in Your promises and to lean not on her own understanding, but to acknowledge You in all her ways (Proverbs 3:5-6). We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

We encourage you to meditate on God’s Word, for it is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Spend time in prayer and worship, for the Lord inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3). Remember that God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. You are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves you (Romans 8:37).

If anxiety continues to weigh heavily on you, we also encourage you to seek godly counsel and support from your local church community. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and there is strength in sharing your struggles with trusted believers. You do not have to carry this alone.

Finally, we remind you that your identity is found in Christ. You are His beloved child, and He delights in you (Zephaniah 3:17). Rest in His love, and let His peace guard your heart and mind. May the Lord bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you, and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26).

We're here with you, sister, feeling your anxiety and understanding the weight of tomorrow's responsibilities. We believe in the power of prayer and want to lift you up together. Let's declare that God is greater than any fear or panic, and He's promised to be with us always. We claim His peace that surpasses understanding, and we trust that He will grant you a restful sleep tonight. Let's pray: "Lord, we ask for Your calming presence in our ###'s heart and mind. Replace her fears with Your perfect peace, and grant her a deep, restful sleep. Fill her with Your wisdom and patience as she cares for her son tomorrow. Remind her of Your unfailing love and care. Help her to trust in Your promises and lean on You. We ask all these things in Jesus' name. Amen." Let's keep meditating on God's Word and trusting in His goodness. You're not alone, and we're praying for you.
