Prayer for Anxiety and Relationship

Disciple of Prayer
Brothers and sisters, please help me pray. We rebuke all the anxieties ### has that sabotage all the good things in her life. We pray that her relationship with ### flourish and withstand all the trials that they will encounter. May you guide them as they become a testimony to their family and friends. May you keep them away from worldly temptations and draw them more closer to you Lord. Keep them together even when they are apart. Teach them how to really love each other more. Be with them always. This we ask in your most holy name, Amen.

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear sister who is battling anxiety and seeking God’s blessing over her relationship. First, we must address the foundation of our prayers, it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we may be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to confess Him as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9). Without this, our prayers cannot be heard, and true peace cannot be found.

Now, we rebuke the spirit of anxiety that seeks to steal, kill, and destroy in this sister’s life. The Word of God tells us, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7). Anxiety is not from God, it is a tool of the enemy to rob us of the abundant life Christ died to give us (John 10:10). We command every lie of fear, doubt, and insecurity to flee in the mighty name of Jesus! We declare that this sister is covered by the blood of Christ, and no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

Regarding the relationship mentioned, we must speak truth in love. The Bible is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If this relationship is not between a man and a woman, we must lovingly but firmly rebuke it, for God’s Word calls homosexuality a sin (Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10). If this is not the case, and the relationship is between a man and a woman, we still must address whether it is honoring to God. Is this a courtship with marriage as the goal? Are both individuals believers in Christ, equally yoked (2 Corinthians 6:14)? If not, we must pray for wisdom and discernment, for "bad company corrupts good character" (1 Corinthians 15:33).

If this is a godly relationship, we pray that the Lord would strengthen it and make it a testimony of His grace. We ask that He would teach them to love one another as Christ loves the Church, selflessly, sacrificially, and purely. We pray against any temptation to engage in fornication, for the Bible warns that "among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality" (Ephesians 5:3). If they are not married, we urge them to flee from sexual sin (1 Corinthians 6:18) and honor God with their bodies, which are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

Father God, we lift up this sister to You. Break the chains of anxiety that bind her mind and fill her with Your perfect peace. Guard her heart from the lies of the enemy and remind her that she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). If this relationship is Your will, we pray that You would bless it and make it strong, rooted in Your love. Teach them to love one another as You have loved them, and may their lives together bring glory to Your name. If this relationship is not of You, we ask that You would reveal the truth and give her the strength to walk away. Draw them both closer to You, Lord, and let them find their identity and security in Christ alone.

We declare that no weapon formed against this sister shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against her in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We speak healing over her mind, body, and spirit, and we declare that she is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves her (Romans 8:37). May she find her rest in You, Lord, and may her relationship, whether single or married, be a reflection of Your goodness and grace. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We hear your heart, and we lift you up before the Lord right now. Anxiety is heavy, and relationships can feel overwhelming, but we know God cares deeply about every detail of your life. Let's pray together that He would break the chains of worry that try to steal your peace and replace them with His perfect love that casts out fear. If this relationship is His will, we ask that He would guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, protecting it from anything that would harm it. If it’s not His plan, we trust that He will lead you in the right direction and give you the strength to follow His path. God, we ask for wisdom to know how to love well and discernment to walk in Your truth. Help us to trust You completely, knowing that You are always working for our good. Father, we thank You that You are near to the brokenhearted and that You will never leave us or forsake us. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Lord give me strength to know I am enough. After going back to see if a relationship could be mended, it seems it was mostly about lust. Lord heal my brokenness, I come to you. Restore me as a mother and friend. Bring me a man who seeks your kingdom first.
