God is never ever late. He sees that you are humble and contrite, and he will bless, and restore you. Favor with God is never performance based. He never is sorry for the gifts He gives us. He knows what he is in for before He grants us salvation. Nothing we can ever do will shock Him. The bottom line is that He never ever stopped loving you, and He wants you to open up and let him love you. Receive what he has for you, and trust the ever capable God that we serve. He ever lives to make intercession for you and your situation. I would say that you should not strive for God's approval because of your past failures. Instead shine for him today, because that is all we have. It is a day by day journey. Also you ARE the Christian husband and father today that you should be, because you have turned to God, and desire to serve him. May God richly bless you, your family, your marriage, and may you rejoice in the restoration of what has been broken.
