We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation to our Heavenly Father, who sees all and knows the truth of every matter. We thank you for the name of Jesus, through whom we have access to the Father, and we pray all these things in His mighty name.
Father, we first want to honor the marriage covenant represented here. We pray for this union between husband and wife, that it would be strengthened and protected according to Your design. "Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate" (Mark 10:9). Lord, we ask that You would continue to knit their hearts together in love and unity, especially as they face these trials. Protect their marriage from division and strife, and let no weapon formed against it prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
We see the pain caused by these false accusations and manipulations regarding the ancestral property. Father, we rebuke the spirit of deception and division at work in this family. Your Word tells us that "a false witness will not go unpunished, and he who pours out lies will not go free" (Proverbs 19:5). We pray that truth would prevail and that all lies would be exposed. Lord, we ask that You would open the eyes of this mother-in-law to see how she is being influenced and manipulated by others. Give her discernment to recognize the truth from deception, for "the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy" (James 3:17).
We lift up this husband who has been deeply hurt by the words spoken against him. Father, we ask that You would heal his heart and mind. Your Word promises that "he heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds" (Psalm 147:3). Lord, we pray that You would pour out Your peace upon him, that he may forgive those who have spoken falsely, just as You have forgiven us. Help him to release any bitterness or resentment, for "if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses" (Matthew 6:15). Fill him with Your love and grace, that he may extend the same to his mother, even in this difficult time.
Father, we also pray for the sister-in-law who is feeding negativity and influencing this mother-in-law. We ask that You would convict her heart and turn her from this path of strife. Your Word warns us that "a perverse man stirs up strife, and a whisperer separates close friends" (Proverbs 16:28). Lord, we pray that she would come to repentance and seek reconciliation rather than division.
We ask that You would bring resolution to the matter of the ancestral property. Lord, we pray that it would be divided fairly and justly, according to Your will, and that all parties would be satisfied with the outcome. Let there be no room for greed or selfish ambition, for "where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there" (James 3:16). Instead, let Your peace rule in their hearts, and may they seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness (Matthew 6:33).
We also lift up the mental and emotional well-being of both this husband and wife. Father, we ask that You would guard their minds and hearts in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen them with Your might, that they may not grow weary in doing good, even when faced with false accusations. Remind them that "blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake" (Matthew 5:11).
Lord, we thank You for the strong bond between this husband and wife. We pray that You would continue to protect and nurture their love for one another, that they may be a testimony of Your grace and faithfulness. Help them to stand firm in their faith, knowing that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Finally, Father, we ask that You would bring this entire family to a place of repentance, forgiveness, and reconciliation. Soften hearts that have grown hard, and let Your love prevail. We pray that they would all come to know You more deeply and walk in Your ways, for "how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in unity!" (Psalm 133:1).
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
