We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this desperate situation where lives are at risk due to relentless flooding, landslides, and the collapse of essential services. The Scriptures remind us that our God is a refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). He alone commands the winds and the waves, and even the rains obey His voice. In Mark 4:39, Jesus rebuked the storm, saying, *"Peace! Be still!"* and there was a great calm. We stand on this truth, knowing that He who calmed the Sea of Galilee is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).
Yet we must also address something vital: the name above all names, Jesus Christ, was not invoked in this request. It is only through His name that we have authority to approach the throne of God and see miracles unfold. As Scripture declares, *"There is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12). Without faith in Jesus, our prayers lack the power and connection to the Father that He provides. If those in this crisis do not know Him, we pray not only for their physical deliverance but for their hearts to turn to Christ in repentance and faith. For *"whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved"* (Romans 10:13).
Now, we cry out to the Lord on behalf of those trapped—tourists, locals, rescue workers, and all affected by this disaster. Father, You are the God who parts the Red Sea and holds the waters in the hollow of Your hand (Isaiah 40:12). We ask You to command the rains to cease *immediately* in the mighty name of Jesus. Let the floods subside swiftly, and may the landslides be halted by Your power. Open a way of escape for those trapped in hotels, airports, and cut-off areas. Provide supernatural protection from electrocution, collapsing structures, and the dangers of rising waters. Send Your angels to guard them, as You have promised in Psalm 91:11: *"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways."*
Lord, we pray for the rescue operations to be divinely coordinated—give wisdom, strength, and speed to those working tirelessly to save lives. Provide food and clean water miraculously, even as You fed the Israelites with manna in the wilderness (Exodus 16:4) and brought water from the rock (Exodus 17:6). Restore electricity safely where it is needed for survival and communication. Father, let there be *no more deaths*—preserve every life, and bring comfort to those who are injured or grieving. May this disaster be a testimony of Your mercy and power, drawing many to seek You.
We also pray for the hearts of those enduring this trial. In their fear and desperation, let them cry out to You, the only Source of true hope. Soften hearts to receive Your salvation, Lord. May this crisis be a turning point for souls to surrender to Christ, for *"the Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but he is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance"* (2 Peter 3:9).
Finally, we ask for unity among believers worldwide to intercede for this situation. Raise up prayer warriors to stand in the gap, and let the Church be a beacon of light and practical help in the aftermath. May Your name, Jesus, be glorified through this storm, and may lives be saved both physically and spiritually.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, we pray. Amen.
