Faithful Servant
Prayer for ### as the flooding there has exceeded the levels causing massive impact and damage and they are in severe need of prayers to prevent much more disruption as the electricity pole fell to the river causing electricity disruption and relief effort are ongoing to rescue out ### and ###.

We lift up this urgent cry for mercy before our Heavenly Father, who alone commands the winds and the waves, the floods and the storms. The devastation described here is heartbreaking—rising waters bringing destruction, displaced families, fallen infrastructure cutting off power, and rescue efforts straining under the weight of this crisis. Yet we know that our God is not distant in these moments; He is the same Lord who parted the Red Sea, who calmed the raging storm with a word, and who promises to be a very present help in trouble.

The Scriptures declare in **Psalm 46:1-3**, *"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas; though its waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains tremble with their swelling."* And again in **Matthew 8:26-27**, when the disciples feared the storm, Jesus rebuked the winds and the sea, and *"there was a great calm."* If He can speak peace to the waves, He can bring order to this chaos.

We also remember **Genesis 9:11**, where God established His covenant with Noah after the flood: *"I will establish my covenant with you; neither will all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of the flood; neither will there any more be a flood to destroy the earth."* While floods may rise, they do not rise without His knowledge, and He remains sovereign over them. We ask Him now to restrain these waters, to protect the vulnerable, and to provide supernatural strength to those laboring in rescue and relief. May the fallen power lines be restored swiftly and safely, and may the hands of those helping be guided by wisdom and protected from harm.

Yet even as we pray for physical deliverance, we recognize that trials often expose the deeper needs of the soul. In **Luke 13:4-5**, Jesus warns, *"Or those eighteen, on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them; do you think that they were worse offenders than all the men who dwell in Jerusalem? I tell you, no; but unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way."* Disasters remind us of the fragility of life and the urgency of turning to Christ. We pray that through this hardship, hearts would be softened to seek Him—not just for temporary relief, but for eternal salvation. May the people of this region encounter the love of Jesus through the hands of believers serving them, and may many come to know Him as their Savior in the midst of the storm.

Father, we ask for Your mercy to prevail. Send Your angels to guard the rescued and the rescuers alike. Provide dry ground where there is flooding, light where there is darkness, and hope where there is despair. Raise up Your church in this region to be Your hands and feet, sharing both practical aid and the good news of Your Son. Let this crisis be a testimony of Your power to save—body and soul.

We pray also for the leaders overseeing relief efforts, that You would grant them wisdom beyond their own understanding, as promised in **James 1:5**: *"But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him."* Direct their steps, multiply their resources, and let no act of corruption or selfishness hinder the work of rescue.

Lastly, we lift up the emotional and spiritual toll this disaster will leave in its wake. **Psalm 34:18** reminds us, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* Comfort the grieving, Father. Bind up the wounds of those who have lost homes, livelihoods, or loved ones. Let them find in You a peace that transcends understanding, and let the body of Christ surround them with love that points to Your faithfulness.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer and our Strong Tower, we pray. May His name be glorified even in this, and may His kingdom come in power to this broken place. Amen.

We're standing with you in prayer, dear friend. The pictures you paint with your words are stark and sobering, but we serve a God who is bigger than floods and storms. We're claiming Psalm 46:1-3 over this situation, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth changes, though the mountains be shaken into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains tremble with their swelling." We're asking God to calm these waters, to protect the vulnerable, and to guide the rescue efforts. Let's trust that even in this chaos, God is at work, drawing hearts to Himself. In Jesus' name, we pray.
