Prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We come before the throne of grace with hearts heavy yet hopeful, lifting up this cry for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness. Your Word declares, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled" (Matthew 5:6 WEB). This is not merely a desire, it is a divine longing that You alone can ignite and sustain. We stand in agreement with this prayer, for the world is starving for truth, and only You can satisfy that hunger.

Father, we lift up the team at and their legal representatives, who are entangled in deception and the snares of the enemy. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that they might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10 WEB). We plead the power of the blood of Jesus over them, that it would break every chain of lies, every stronghold of pride, and every deception that blinds them to Your truth. "The god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them" (2 Corinthians 4:4 WEB). But we declare that the light of Christ will pierce the darkness in their hearts. Open their eyes, Lord, that they may see the truth of Your Word and the freedom it brings.

We acknowledge that even those trained in the law can fall into grievous sin, for knowledge alone does not save, only You do. "For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23 WEB). We do not stand in judgment, for we too are sinners saved by grace. But we do stand in the gap, interceding for repentance and transformation. Father, soften their hearts, as You did with King David, who cried out, "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me" (Psalm 51:10 WEB). Let them hate their sin as You hate it, and turn from it with godly sorrow that leads to repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10 WEB).

The disregard for human life and honest communication grieves Your heart, for You are the God of truth and the Author of life. "You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor" (Exodus 20:13-16 WEB). These are not suggestions, they are Your holy standards. We pray that You would stir within them a deep conviction of sin and a holy fear of You, for "the fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom" (Proverbs 9:10 WEB).

We ask that You would ignite in them an unquenchable thirst for Your truth and righteousness. Let them not be satisfied with the empty philosophies of this world, but let them crave the pure milk of Your Word, that they may grow thereby (1 Peter 2:2 WEB). "Sanctify them in your truth. Your word is truth" (John 17:17 WEB). May they seek You with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength, for You promise that those who seek You will find You (Jeremiah 29:13 WEB).

Holy Spirit, we invite You to move mightily in their lives. Convict them of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8 WEB). Lead them to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which they must be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). If they have not yet surrendered their lives to Jesus, we pray that they would do so today, for "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9 WEB). Let them experience the new birth, the washing of regeneration, and the renewing of the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:5 WEB).

We thank You, Father, for Your holiness and for the intercession of the Holy Spirit, who prays for us and for them with groanings too deep for words (Romans 8:26 WEB). We exalt the name of Jesus, for He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6 WEB). Let Your will be done in their lives, just as it is in heaven. We pray that they would walk in the light as You are in the light, having fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ Your Son cleansing them from all sin (1 John 1:7 WEB).

We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, to whom be all glory, honor, and power forever and ever. Amen.

We join you in lifting up this team and their legal representatives, deeply moved by your heart’s cry for truth and righteousness to break through where lies have held sway. It’s a sacred ache, to see people, no matter how educated or accomplished, caught in patterns that disregard life and honest communication, and to long for their freedom rather than their condemnation.

What you’ve prayed over them echoes what God does in a contrite heart: not just a passing regret but a thorough about-face. Experience teaches us that feeling sorry alone does little; many can weep over consequences yet return to the same choices. But the sorrow that leads to genuine repentance is different, it turns the whole person so that the behavior itself becomes unwelcome. So we can pray with you that these lawyers and all involved would be given that kind of godly sorrow, the kind that produces in them a steady, unquenchable thirst for what is true and right, not just a temporary discomfort.

Keep holding them before the Lord, not with superiority but with the same broken spirit you’ve shown. Ask the Holy Spirit to do what only He can: convict, redirect, and plant a durable desire to honor life and speak truth. And as you do, may your own heart rest in the One who is always at work, even when change seems slow.

Let’s pray the heart of your request together:

Lord Jesus, we ask for this team, bind every lie that entangles them and break the grip of whatever blinds them to the value of truth and human life. Grant them a sorrow that leads to real change, a hatred of the sin that has taken root, and a permanent hunger for righteousness. Cover those who belong to You with peace and strengthen them to walk uprightly. We trust Your Spirit to intercede relentlessly, and we thank You that You never give up on turning hearts. Amen.

The thirst for truth and righteousness is a thirst that only the Spirit of God can create. It is a holy thirst that hates sin as sin and turns from it with purpose of heart. Beware of a superficial repentance, for the Lord abhors it. God is not mocked. He sees the loathsomeness of the ulcer through the film which seeks to hide it. True repentance gives glory to the omniscience of God and to the righteousness of His Law. The man who really hates sin says, “Lord, I do not quarrel with Your Law. Your Law is holy and just and good.” Is sin truly sinful to you? Do you see its desert of Hell? If not, your repentance needs to be repented of.

We never hate sin so much as when we get a realizing thought of the griefs of Immanuel. Think of how terribly Christ suffered because of sin. He was treated as a thing accursed, for He was made a curse for us, made sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. That opened side is the refuge of your guilty spirit, yet it was sin that made that fearful gash. O sin, you thrice accursed thing, away with you! Away with you! Such a sight of sin forgiven dissolves a heart of stone and kindles an unquenchable hatred of all that is evil.

But mark this: repentance is not a qualification you pull up from the depths of your own heart. It is a gift worked by the Holy Spirit through belief of the truth. As you learn that Christ was made sin for you, though He knew no sin, that truth will lead you to hate sin indeed. The condemnation of sin in the sacrifice of Christ derives its weight from the dignity of His Person. Human philosophy cannot make you hate sin; the study of the Law of God cannot make you hate it. Only the sight of the bleeding Savior can create that godly sorrow that needs not to be repented of.

Where there is no repentance, there can be no remission. But where there is real sorrow for sin, a turning of the mind right round, and a determination to forsake it, that is the infallible token of pardon. It is not a repentance that keeps you from Christ, for any repentance that makes you think Christ will not save you is a sin, a detracting from the grace of God. True repentance flees to the Cross. It sees the sovereign mercy of God and finds its hope not in its own tears but in the wounds of Jesus. Your sins are not put away through your repentance; the true cleansing is found in His blood.

Pray then, in Jesus’ name, that these lawyers and all who are bound by lies may have their eyes opened to the beauty of the Sun of Righteousness. Christ is the center of the entire system of the gospel. He came to finish transgression, make an end of sin, and bring in everlasting righteousness. In the darkest haunts of sin, God’s elect shall feel His sovereign power. Let your prayer be that they may be stripped of all self-righteousness and brought as broken sinners to the foot of the Cross, for a broken and contrite heart God will not despise. May they learn to hate the evil in which they have walked and thirst for the living truth, Christ Jesus Himself, who is the truth.

We are fighting for God and His truth against error and against sin, but not against men. Touch not the persons of men, but smite their sin with a stout heart and strong arm. Heroes of the truth, soldiers of Christ, awake! The great warfare of truth waxes more hot and fierce. Lift up your prayers as weapons, and expect that the Lord will yet give repentance unto life to many who now disregard human life and honest communication. The Spirit of God can stir their hearts and give them an unquenchable thirst for righteousness, a longing to be clean rid of every trace of sin. Glory be to His name who works all in all, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have prayed for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, and you have done well to ask this of God, for our Lord Himself cried out, “If any man thirst, let him come unto Me, and drink.” Yet observe what kind of thirst He honors. It is not a fleeting wish, but a burning, eager desire, like a man parched and gasping for water. Those who come to the divine preaching must manifest the desire of thirsty men, kindling in themselves a similar longing. For “blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness,” not those who pursue it casually, but with all their soul, transferring every covetous impulse to freedom from sin.

But you also pray for those lawyers bound by Satan’s lies, asking that they recognize their sins and hate them enough to turn away. This is right, yet you must understand how terrible it is to know the truth and still sin willfully. For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation which shall devour the adversaries. Trees which have been planted and watered, yet yield no fruit, are pulled up by the roots and handed over to the fire, fire unquenchable, like that eternal flame prepared for the devil and his angels. Do not imagine that a mere show of sorrow suffices. Esau sought repentance carefully with tears, yet found no place of it, because his grief was not true repentance. Murderous intent still festered in his heart. So too, if these lawyers feel a pang but continue in deeds that disregard human life and honest communication, their tears will not save them.

Therefore, pray that they be created anew “in righteousness and holiness of truth,” not the shadow of righteousness seen in outward washing, but the very reality formed in the soul by the Spirit. Pray that they put on the breastplate of righteousness, that impenetrable armor of a life of universal virtue which no devil can pierce. And for yourself, do not boast or look down upon the educated who fall, for this is a childish mind. Instead, prove what is well-pleasing unto the Lord by walking in all goodness, righteousness, and truth. Continue to long for their salvation, knowing that almsgiving and intercession scatter seed which produces handfuls of righteousness, fruits unspeakable. But remember: believing is not enough, for even the devils tremble. Only a broken and contrite heart, proving its repentance by a changed life, will escape that unquenchable fire. Stir your own thirst ever more, and in your prayers, commend them to the Holy Spirit who intercedes, that God may work on their hearts until they truly hunger and thirst after His righteousness alone.

Your prayer jumps right into the deep reality that truth is not merely an abstract idea to be studied but a Person to be encountered. When Jesus said the truth would set us free, He was speaking of a liberation that begins deep within the human heart. That is exactly where your request lands, and it is the right place to start. The sorrow you feel over those who handle the law yet disregard life and honest communication echoes a biblical lament. It is possible to hold a form of knowledge and the truth in the law, to instruct others in righteousness, and yet remain inwardly untouched by the very standards one teaches. The conscience can become so calloused that a person is ignorant of God’s righteousness while busily going about to establish their own.

What gives me hope for the people you have named is the Scripture you turned to in Psalm 51. You have put your finger on the precise heart of the matter. God does not delight in outward religious performance when the motivation is wrong. The sacrifice He will not despise is a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart. When a heart becomes so hardened that it treats human life casually and speaks with deceit, the only remedy is that kind of shattering before the Lord. Sometimes a person can stiffen their own heart for so long that God finally firms them in that condition, but the very fact that you are praying for an unquenchable thirst means you are asking God to intercept that process. You are asking Him to create not just a sense of guilt but a genuine hatred for the sin itself, a longing to be free of it.

This is the path to a righteousness that is not our own. A proud heart produces a polished outward show that looks clean but is filthy inside. That is why the pure in heart are blessed, for they shall see God. True revelation of God brings a true revelation of self, and when a person sees themselves in the light of the Lord, it creates a hunger and thirst for a righteousness they know they do not possess. That thirst cannot be satisfied by any physical success, intellectual achievement, or legal victory. Every earthly well leaves you thirsty again. But Jesus speaks of a living water that becomes a well springing up from within. For those whose hearts are wet with the witness of the Spirit, the word of faith is near them, in their mouth and in their heart, because with the heart one believes unto righteousness.

Let us join your prayer and press it toward that end. Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus, asking that You do a work no human argument can accomplish. Expose what is hidden inside these lawyers and representatives. Tear away every false covering until they see themselves as You see them. Remove the high look and the proud heart, and let no idol of success or reputation remain standing. We do not ask only that they stop doing evil, but that You give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness. Let them become so thirsty that they drink deeply of the righteousness which is by faith in Christ alone. Place Your seal upon their hearts so that their words and their deeds are made consistent with Your Word. We ask this so that Your church and Your truth might be honored. Amen.
