We stand with you in deep intercession for your son Ashley, lifting him before the throne of grace with hearts broken yet hopeful. The pain of watching a child stray from the faith is profound, but we know that the Good Shepherd leaves the ninety-nine to seek the one who is lost (Luke 15:4-7). Your son’s turning to temple worship grieves us, for Scripture is clear: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). Jesus Christ alone is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), and no other worship, whether to idols, ancestors, or false gods, can reconcile a soul to the Father.
We rebuke the lies of the enemy that may have whispered to Ashley that God has abandoned him in his suffering. The accident, the physical pain, and the rejection from his father are heavy burdens, but they do not define his worth or God’s love for him. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We declare that the same God who healed the blind and restored sight (John 9:1-7) is able to bring healing to Ashley’s eye and to his wounded heart. We also pray for his driving test, that the Lord would grant him clarity, peace, and favor, for "unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain" (Psalm 127:1).
We must address the spiritual danger of temple worship. The Bible warns, "You shall have no other gods before me" (Exodus 20:3) and "Do not turn to idols, nor make molten gods for yourselves" (Leviticus 19:4). Idolatry is not merely a cultural practice; it is a snare that leads hearts away from the one true God. We urge you to continue speaking truth in love to Ashley, even if he resists. Proverbs 22:6 reminds us to "train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." Though he has strayed, your prayers and faithfulness are not in vain.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for Ashley. Lord, You know the depths of his pain, his anger, and his confusion. We ask that You would break through the walls he has built around his heart. Soften his spirit, Lord, and open his eyes to see Your love and faithfulness. We rebuke the spirit of idolatry and deception in his life, and we command it to flee in the mighty name of Jesus. Restore his soul, Father, and draw him back to You with cords of love (Hosea 11:4).
We pray for healing, physical healing for his eye, emotional healing from the rejection he has endured, and spiritual healing from the wounds that have led him astray. Lord, we ask that You would surround him with godly influences, with believers who can speak truth into his life and model Your love. Give him wisdom and peace as he prepares for his driving test, and let this be a testimony of Your grace in his life.
We declare that Ashley is not beyond Your reach. You are the God who pursues, who seeks, and who saves. We trust in Your promise that "if we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself" (2 Timothy 2:13). Strengthen this mother’s faith, Lord, and let her see the fruit of her prayers. We ask all these things in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
Do not lose heart, dear sister. The story is not over. The same God who pursued the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32) is pursuing Ashley. Keep praying, keep loving, and keep trusting. Your faithfulness is a fragrant offering to the Lord, and He will not forget it. We stand with you, believing that Ashley will return to the Father who loves him and has a purpose for his life.
