Prayer for a softer heart

Dear Family Of God, Today I'd like to pray for a softer heart. As in the bible, Pharaoh had a hard heart and would not let the children of Israel go. I don't give unto GOD his due because of my hard heart. I pray for it to change. That i may praise, worship, glorify , thank and others unto GOD as he is more than worthy. Please stand with me in agreement and prayer over this. I pray for favor favor favor. I pray for miracles miracles miracles in pray for blessings blessings blessings. I'd like to pray against principalities and powers of darkness in high places. I pray for extreme, unmatched, unstoppable, unspeakable, abundantly, abounding glory all over the world. Please stand with me in faith and prayer over this. All these things I humbly ask in Jesus Christ name with thanksgiving. Thank you.

We stand with you in agreement over this prayer for a softer heart and we thank you for your honesty and humility in bringing this before the Lord. We understand what you mean when you speak of Pharaoh, for Scripture shows us that a hard heart withholds from God what is due to Him and resists His will, and we rejoice that you desire the opposite, to praise, worship, glorify and thank Him as He is more than worthy.

The Lord delights in this request because it is His own promise to do this work in us. He says in Ezekiel 36:26 I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. And again in Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me. We are encouraged that you recognize a hard heart cannot be softened by our own effort alone, but by God drawing near as we draw near to Him. As James 4:8 says Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. And Hebrews 3:15 warns us Today if you will hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts.

When our hearts are soft toward the Lord, giving Him His due becomes our joy rather than our duty. A soft heart is tender to conviction, quick to repent, quick to worship, and quick to obey. We pray that the Lord will continue to remove any hardness, pride, or resistance and make your heart responsive to His Word and His Spirit, that your life would overflow with praise and thanksgiving.

We also join you in praying for favor, miracles and blessings, and we gently encourage you to seek these according to the will and glory of God rather than as repetitions. Our Father knows what we need before we ask, and Jesus reminds us in Matthew 6:7 In praying, don’t use vain repetitions, as the Gentiles do and in Matthew 6:33 But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. We desire with you not just blessings for their own sake, but blessings that draw you and others closer to Christ and display His glory.

We agree with you in prayer against the powers of darkness, for we know our struggle is not against flesh and blood. Ephesians 6:12 says For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. We stand with you in faith that Christ has already triumphed over them and that as we put on the full armor of God and abide in Jesus, we walk in His victory. We also join you in longing for His glory to cover the earth, as Habakkuk 2:14 promises For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of Yahweh, as the waters cover the sea.

Let us pray together.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You with thanksgiving for our brother who desires a soft heart before You. We ask You to do what only You can do, take away the heart of stone and give a heart of flesh. Create in him a clean heart and renew a right spirit within him. Soften every place that has grown hard through sin, disappointment, or neglect, and make him tender to Your voice. Teach him to give You Your due in praise, worship, glorification and thanksgiving every day. Pour out Your favor and mercy according to Your perfect will, work miracles that point to Your Son, and release blessings that enable him to bless others and bring You glory. We take authority in Jesus name over every principality and power of darkness that would seek to harden his heart or hinder his walk, and we declare the victory of the cross over his life. Let Your unmatched and abounding glory be seen in him and spread throughout the world as You draw many to Yourself. We thank You that we have access to Your throne only through Jesus Christ our Lord, and we trust You to answer according to Your love and wisdom. In Jesus Christ name we pray, amen.

We were so grateful to read your prayer for a softer heart. That desire itself to give God His due in praise and thanksgiving is a work of grace, and we count it a privilege to stand with you in it.

We have found that a soft heart is not usually formed in a single moment. Like all spiritual growth, it happens gradually and often quietly, over a lifetime with real highs and lows. What helps most is steady training rather than trying harder for a day or two. Worship is one of the ways God gently reshapes us, because it lifts our eyes from ourselves and sets them on Him on His throne, and from that place we begin to see our circumstances, ourselves, and our world differently.

A simple next step many find helpful is to choose one small, sustainable rhythm and keep it. Perhaps a few unhurried minutes each morning to thank God for who He is, to be in His Word, and to ask Him to do what only He can do and soften what feels hard. Small faithfulness over time bears fruit.

Father, we thank You for the hunger You have placed in our friend's heart for You. We ask You to soften what is hard and to draw near as he seeks You. Teach him to know Your nearness and to worship You with joy, and form in him a heart that delights to give You glory. We ask for Your wisdom and leading in his life day by day. Your prayer for a softer heart is a good and needful prayer, and we do stand with you in it before the throne of grace. To feel your hardness and to mourn it, and to desire to praise and worship and glorify God as He is worthy, is itself a sign that the Lord has already begun a gracious work within you.

Take heed that you seek not a carnal repentance which springs only from terror and withers as quickly as it comes. Such repentance is superficial and skin deep and never reaches the heart. Pharaoh himself trembled under judgment, yet his heart was hardened. Law and terrors do but harden, all the while they work alone. It is a sense of blood bought pardon that dissolves the heart of stone. True repentance, that repentance unto life which is the sure token of pardon, is not drawn up from the depths of your own heart as water from a well, but is the gift of God wrought in you by His Holy Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ. It is not a preparation for grace, it is the first result of grace working within the soul.

What you ask for, a heart of flesh for a heart of stone, Christ delights to give. Look not within to make yourself soft, but look out of self to Christ and to Christ only. See His goodness, for the goodness of God leads to repentance, and see His wounds, for that dove eyed repentance which looks at His bleeding wounds and feels that her heart must bleed because she wounded Christ is the repentance which glorifies God and sets the sinner ever afterwards craving after holiness. God requires truth in the inward parts, for He is a Spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. No form, however correct, is worship without the heart. Yet we are told that no one ever worshipped God with his whole heart unless he worshipped Him with a broken heart, and there never was a heart that was truly broken that did not thereby become a whole heart. A broken and a contrite heart, God will not despise.

So we join our faith with yours and pray for you.

Our Father, we thank Thee that Thou hast shown our friend his need of a tender conscience and a soft heart. Fulfil Thy promise and take away the stony heart and give a heart of flesh. Work in him that evangelical repentance which is wrought by Thy Spirit and grant him faith to look to Jesus Christ alone for remission of sins. Let him know the blood bought pardon which alone can break and melt the heart. Make his worship true, not formal only, but in spirit and in truth, with a broken and contrite spirit that is serious and earnest before Thee. Cause this repentance to be practical and lasting, a lifelong act that grows and yields works meet for repentance, and keep him from being Gospel hardened.

We ask for Thy favor, which is life, and that favor which is found in Christ Jesus. We ask for Thy blessings, every spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ. We ask that Thou wouldst show Thy power according to Thy sovereign will, and deliver from the powers of darkness and from principalities and powers in high places, and make him to stand strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Let Thy glory be seen, not as we vainly imagine, but as Thou art glorified when sinners repent and saints worship Thee with whole and holy hearts. All this we humbly ask in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, with thanksgiving. Amen.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul.
