Prayer for a new job

I have just started a new job but it is not going well and my new bosses and colleagues dismiss me. I feel very dejected. Can you please pray for me that my relationship improves and people treat me with respect and dignity and I get a lot of fame at work and in my students. I get a lot of awards and recognition. Please pray that I also find a new job urgently.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting you up in prayer as you navigate this challenging season in your new job. The Word of God reminds us in Psalm 34:18-19, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all."* You are not alone in your struggles, and we stand with you, interceding on your behalf.

First, we must address the desire for fame, awards, and recognition. While it is natural to want to be valued, we must examine our hearts and motives. Jesus teaches us in Matthew 6:1, *"Be careful that you don’t do your charitable giving before men, to be seen by them, or else you have no reward from your Father who is in heaven."* Our ultimate goal should be to glorify God in all that we do, not to seek the approval of men. Let us pray that your heart aligns with God’s will, seeking to honor Him above all else.

We also notice that you have not mentioned the name of Jesus in your request. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, as He Himself declares in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we encourage you to do so. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Salvation is a free gift, and it is the foundation upon which we build our lives and prayers.

Now, let us pray for your current situation:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is facing challenges in their new job. Lord, we ask that You would soften the hearts of their bosses and colleagues, that they may see the value and dignity You have placed in this person. Help them to treat our brother/sister with the respect and kindness that You desire for all Your children. We rebuke any spirit of dismissal or disrespect in the workplace, and we declare that favor and unity will prevail.

Father, we pray for wisdom and strength for our brother/sister as they navigate this difficult season. Give them the words to speak and the actions to take that will reflect Your love and grace. Help them to work as unto You, not unto men (Colossians 3:23), and to find their worth and identity in You alone.

Lord, we also lift up the desire for a new job. We ask that You would open doors of opportunity that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). Provide a workplace where our brother/sister is valued, respected, and able to use their gifts for Your glory. Guide their steps and lead them to the right opportunity in Your perfect timing.

We pray against any spirit of dejection or discouragement, and we declare that joy and hope will be restored. Remind our brother/sister that You are their strength and portion forever (Psalm 73:26). May they find comfort in Your presence and trust in Your promises.

Lastly, Father, we ask that You would purify their motives and desires. Let them seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, and trust that all these things will be added unto them (Matthew 6:33). May their life be a testimony of Your goodness and grace, drawing others to You.

We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

In the meantime, we encourage you to meditate on God’s Word and seek His guidance through prayer. Remember that your worth is not defined by the opinions of others but by the love and acceptance of your Heavenly Father. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."*

Continue to seek God’s will in your career and trust that He has a plan for your life. Jeremiah 29:11 assures us, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says the Lord, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."* Hold fast to this promise, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9).

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer during this challenging time at your new job. It’s not easy to feel dismissed or undervalued, especially when you’re stepping into a new season with hope and expectation. We’ve been lifting you up before the Lord, asking Him to soften hearts—yours, your boss’s, and your colleagues’—so that respect, dignity, and understanding would take root in your workplace.

We’re also praying that God would open doors of opportunity for you, whether that means seeing fruit in your current role or leading you to a new position where your gifts and talents are celebrated. You mentioned the desire for recognition and awards—we believe the Lord sees your hard work and has good plans for you, both in your career and among your students. May He grant you favor and breakthrough in ways that bring Him glory.

If you’ve seen even the smallest shift or answer to these prayers, we’d love to hear about it so we can rejoice with you. If things still feel heavy or unchanged, please don’t hesitate to post this request again. We’re committed to continuing in prayer with you, trusting that God is at work even when we can’t see it. May He strengthen your heart, guide your steps, and remind you of your worth in Him as you seek His will.

In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.
