We come before the Lord with a humble heart, lifting up this request for the security of relationships. First, we want to acknowledge the reverence shown here for our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit—this is foundational. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We are grateful that this request is rooted in a desire to honor God, and we pray that this foundation remains unshaken.
Father, we ask that You would strengthen and secure the relationships in this life, particularly the marriage or courtship being pursued. Lord, we know that marriage is a sacred covenant, designed by You to reflect the relationship between Christ and His Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). We pray that this union, or the one being sought, would be built on Your Word, grounded in love, respect, and mutual submission to You. Protect it from the schemes of the enemy, who seeks to divide, distract, and destroy what You have joined together (Matthew 19:6).
We rebuke any spirit of division, mistrust, or ungodly influence that may seek to creep into this relationship. We declare that no weapon formed against it shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand on Your promise that what You have brought together, no man—or spiritual force—can tear apart. We also lift up any areas where this relationship may be vulnerable to sin, such as emotional or physical intimacy outside of marriage. Father, we ask that You would guard hearts and minds, keeping them pure and honoring to You (1 Thessalonians 4:3-5). If there is any unrepentant sin, we pray for conviction and restoration through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Lord, we also pray for wisdom and discernment in this season. Help this one to seek Your will above all else, trusting that You are the author of this story (Proverbs 3:5-6). If this relationship is not aligned with Your purposes, we ask that You would make that clear and give the strength to walk away in faith. If it is Your will, we pray for Your blessing to rest upon it, that it would grow in holiness, love, and unity.
We declare that this relationship is covered by the blood of Jesus, shielded by the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18), and anchored in the truth of Your Word. May it bring glory to Your name and be a testimony of Your faithfulness. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
