Prayer against horrible blasphemous thoughts/compulsions.

Everyone please pray against every blaphemous thought/compulsious thoughts saying that Jesus would do gross and horrible things to kids, t. These thoughts are incredibly disgusting and horrible!!! They have been bugging me for far too long!!! Worse, they're even compelling me to declare that it's inevitable that I say these things. I don't even want to know the consequences of saying those things!!! I want these to go away and stop bothering me!! IN JESUS CHRIST'S NAME!!!!!!!!

We join with you in Jesus Christ's name and we thank you for bringing this painful struggle into the light, for we know how tormenting and disgusting these intrusive blasphemous thoughts have been for you and how long they have been harassing you.

We want to assure you that these horrible thoughts that accuse Jesus, who is holy and pure and without any sin, of doing gross and evil things to children do not reflect your heart and do not reflect our Lord at all. Jesus loves children deeply and He said, Allow the little children to come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these, Matthew 19:14. He would never harm a child, and the very fact that you are disgusted by these thoughts and do not want them shows that you do not agree with them. What you are experiencing is a spiritual attack and often the enemy uses intrusive thoughts and false compulsions to torment believers, to accuse them and to make them feel condemned and afraid.

We rebuke the enemy and every lying spirit that has been planting these blasphemous suggestions and compulsions to declare what you do not believe. We declare that these thoughts are not from God, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control, 2 Timothy 1:7. We take authority over these lies in the name of Jesus Christ and we command them to flee, for we are told to resist the devil, and he will flee from you, James 4:7.

The Word tells us that we are to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 2 Corinthians 10:5, and to fix our minds on whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, Philippians 4:8. This is not done by fighting the thoughts with your own strength or by arguing with them, but by turning to Jesus and filling your mind with His truth. When the thought comes, we encourage you not to engage it, not to declare it aloud as the compulsion urges, and not to make any vow that you will say it. That compulsion is part of the torment, not from God. Instead, quietly hand the thought to Jesus and speak His truth over yourself.

Please know that having an unwanted intrusive thought pop into your mind is not the same as willfully cherishing blasphemy in your heart. God sees your heart and He knows you love Him and want to honor Him. There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, Romans 8:1. Even when our hearts condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things, 1 John 3:20. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, 1 John 1:9, and as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us, Psalm 103:12. You have not committed the unpardonable sin by being attacked with these thoughts, you are being harassed and you need deliverance and peace, which Jesus freely gives.

We pray together for you now.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our dear brother or sister who is being tormented by these horrible and blasphemous intrusive thoughts and compulsions. Lord, You know how disgusting and distressing these thoughts are and how weary they have become from battling them. We ask You to wash them with Your peace and to silence every lying voice of the enemy. Father, we ask You to guard their mind and heart in Christ Jesus, to renew their mind by Your Word, and to fill them with Your perfect love which casts out fear, 1 John 4:18. We ask You to break the power of every compulsion to speak these lies, and to give them strength to resist and to rest in You. Let them know deeply that they are forgiven, cleansed, and loved, and that You sought them when they were afraid, for we sought Your face and You delivered us from all our fears, Psalm 34:4. Cover them with the blood of Jesus, surround them with Your presence, and let no weapon formed against them prosper. We declare that their mind belongs to Christ and that these thoughts must go and not return. Bring lasting freedom, healing, and quietness of mind, Father, and help them to fix their thoughts on Jesus, who is altogether lovely and holy. In Jesus Christ's name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring these thoughts to Jesus immediately in prayer without shame, to speak scripture aloud when you are attacked, to worship and to fill your mind with the Word, and to not isolate yourself. It can also be very helpful to share this struggle with a trusted pastor or biblical counselor who can pray with you in person and walk with you through this, for we are not meant to battle alone. If these intrusive thoughts persist intensely, please also consider seeking help from a Christian counselor who understands intrusive thoughts, as God often uses godly counsel as part of healing. Keep drawing near to Jesus every day, for He is gentle, He understands your torment, and He will give you rest.

We hear how heavy and exhausting this has been for you, and thank you for trusting us with something so painful to put into words. The fact that these thoughts feel so disgusting and so opposite to what you want matters. Being horrified by them does not mean you agree with them or that they reflect your heart toward Jesus.

When thoughts come that feel intrusive and push you to say them out loud, trying to argue with them or force them away can sometimes make them louder. It can help to quietly label what is happening for what it is, an unwanted intrusive thought that you did not invite, and then gently turn your attention back to what you were doing without debating the content or giving it a declaration. You do not have to sort this out alone.

One steady next step we encourage is to bring this into the light with one trusted person, a pastor or a Christian counselor who understands intrusive thoughts, so you have ongoing support and prayer beyond a single request. If these thoughts continue to take a lot of time and cause marked distress, it is also wise to talk with a counselor or medical professional alongside prayer, not instead of it.

Father, we lift our brother to You in Jesus' name. You see the distress these thoughts bring and how much he wants to honor You. Bring him peace, quiet this torment, and guard his mind. Help him know he is not alone and guide him to wise, caring support. Give him rest and strength each day as he walks with You. Amen.

Your cry has come before the Lord and before His people, and it is heard with great tenderness and sorrow for your affliction. You are not alone in this sore trial, though the trial itself would make you think you are cast away and forgotten. The very horror with which you speak of these thoughts is evidence that they are not the desire of your heart, but an assault upon it.

Know this, that our Lord Jesus Christ is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners. He took little children in His arms and blessed them, and said, Suffer the little children to come unto me, for of such is the kingdom of heaven. The gross and horrible things which these thoughts would lay to His charge are lies, and utterly contrary to His pure and gracious nature. He is not such an one as these blasphemies would make Him to be. They are dark and dreadful thoughts insinuated by the enemy, and you are haunted by them day after day till you feel as the Israelites under the lash of the taskmaster. But the Lord knows how to bring forth His people, and He will make your deliverance effectual, for it is He that brings them forth.

You write that there is a compulsion upon you, telling you it is inevitable that you must declare these things. This is part of the torment. The adversary would have you believe that you must speak what you hate, and then he would accuse you for having spoken it. Do not yield to that voice. A thought presented to the mind is not a thought consented to by the soul. My thoughts are not your thoughts, saith the Lord, and blessed be His name, His thoughts toward you are not as these vile intrusions. How precious also are His thoughts unto you, O tried soul, how great is the sum of them. His thoughts concerning you are constant, kind, wise, tender, gracious and perfect. When you awake, you are still with Him, not cast out because of an assault you abhor. He pities His poor tried and troubled ones as a father pities his children, and He especially pities those who are vexed with thoughts they would give anything to be rid of.

Your deliverance is not in your own strength to forget or to fight these thoughts into silence, for you can do nothing and you know it. Deliverance from the power of sin and from the guilt and terror of sin is as much the work of God as any other part of salvation. Nobody would have thought of that way of deliverance of a sinner from the pit through a ransom if God had not thought of it, but He has found a ransom. The clock of mercy has struck in heaven the hour of deliverance, for the King’s own Son has borne the penalty of all our iniquities. Therefore do not doubt your deliverance, for God Himself has said, I have found a ransom, and then is the deliverance certain, indeed it is already accomplished in Christ Jesus.

Take then this counsel. When these blasphemous suggestions are thrust upon you, do not argue with them as if they deserved an answer, and do not declare them as if declaration would relieve you. Turn at once to the Lord Jesus and tell Him plainly, Lord, Thou knowest I hate this thought, I take refuge in Thy precious blood and Thy perfect holiness. Bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. Let the Word of God be your daily bread, and let prayer be your continual breath, even short cries through the day, Lord, keep me, Lord, deliver me. And open your heart to a faithful pastor or godly brother or sister, that you may not suffer alone in secret, for we cannot show our courage unless we have difficulties, and a man cannot become a veteran soldier if he never goes to battle.

If we had no troubles we would have less to declare, but after affliction and after deliverance the believer says, I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. You shall yet live to declare that the Lord has chastened you sorely but has not given you over unto death, and that He has delivered you from the archers whose arrows are these cruel insinuations.

Let us pray together now.

O most merciful Father, in the name of Thy dear Son Jesus Christ our only Saviour, look in tender pity upon this afflicted one whom Thou hast made to feel the burden of these horrible and blasphemous thoughts. Thou knowest that they are not loved but loathed. Thou hearest the cry, IN JESUS CHRIST'S NAME, for deliverance. We beseech Thee, rebuke the adversary, silence the liar, and grant peace to this troubled mind. Wash the conscience in the blood of the Lamb slain, and let this soul know that there is a ransom found. Let Thy precious thoughts be dear to this heart, and keep this child still with Thee waking and sleeping. Give strength to resist every compulsion to declare what the heart abhors, and set the feet upon a rock. Bring forth this captive with silver and gold, enriched by Thy grace, that there may yet be songs of deliverance. Hear us, O Lord, for Jesus sake. Amen.
