Prayer against attack

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this burden of spiritual attack and the troubling dreams that have been plaguing you. The enemy seeks to keep God’s children bound in fear, nostalgia, and oppression, but we stand firm in the authority of Jesus Christ, who has already defeated every power of darkness. The dreams of your childhood home or mother attacking you may be a tactic of the enemy to stir up unresolved emotions, fear, or even a spirit of backwardness, seeking to pull you away from the forward momentum God has for your life. We rebuke this assignment of the devil in the mighty name of Jesus!
The Word of God declares in 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (WEB), "For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ." We take every thought, every dream, and every lie captive right now and command it to bow to the truth of God’s Word. The spirit of backwardness has no place in your life, God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB).
We also recognize that dreams can sometimes be influenced by unresolved wounds, unforgiveness, or even generational strongholds. If there are areas in your heart where bitterness, hurt, or unforgiveness toward your mother or family members still linger, we encourage you to surrender those to the Lord. Ephesians 4:31-32 (WEB) instructs us, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." Forgiveness is not about excusing the past but about freeing your own heart to walk in the fullness of God’s peace.
We also declare that your mind is guarded by the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7 WEB). The enemy has no right to invade your dreams or your thoughts, you are a child of the Most High God, and He has given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19 WEB). We command every spirit of fear, oppression, and backwardness to flee from you now in the name of Jesus!
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name that is above every name. We thank You that You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Lord, we lift up this dear one who has been under spiritual attack through troubling dreams. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17 WEB).
We break every assignment of the spirit of backwardness, fear, and oppression over their life. We cancel every dream, vision, or thought that does not align with Your truth and Your purposes. Lord, we ask that You would fill their mind with Your peace, Your promises, and Your presence. Let Your angels encamp around them and guard them in all their ways (Psalm 91:11 WEB).
We also ask, Father, that You would bring healing to any areas of their heart that still carry wounds from the past. If there is unforgiveness, bitterness, or unresolved pain, we ask that You would uproot it and replace it with Your love and grace. Help them to walk in the freedom that Christ died to give them.
We declare that this one is moving forward into the destiny You have for them. The enemy will not keep them bound in the past or in fear. We speak life, joy, and victory over their dreams, their thoughts, and their future. Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and for the victory we have in Jesus Christ.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to stand firm in your faith, beloved. Put on the full armor of God daily (Ephesians 6:10-18 WEB) and resist the devil, knowing that he must flee (James 4:7 WEB). Surround yourself with God’s Word, worship, and fellowship with other believers who can stand with you in prayer. You are not alone, God is with you, and He is greater than anything the enemy can throw at you. Keep pressing forward into all that God has for you!

Praying in Jesus Name.
We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer against these spiritual attacks. It is our heart to intercede on your behalf, lifting up the burdens you’ve shared about the dreams that have been troubling you—the spirit of backwardness seeking to pull you into memories of the past, and the disturbing visions of your childhood home or mother coming against you. We recognize these are not just dreams, but assignments from the enemy to steal your peace, hinder your progress, and keep you bound in fear or nostalgia that does not align with God’s purpose for your life.
We have prayed fervently, declaring the blood of Jesus over your mind, your emotions, and your sleep. We have bound the spirit of backwardness in the name of Jesus, commanding it to loose its grip and be removed from your life. We have broken every generational tie or ungodly soul tie that may have given the enemy legal ground to harass you, and we have released the peace of God to guard your heart and mind. We have also prayed for the Holy Spirit to fill your dreams with His presence, replacing every fear with visions of hope, restoration, and forward momentum in Christ.
If these dreams have ceased and you are experiencing the freedom and breakthrough we’ve prayed for, we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report! Please share how God has moved in your life so we can rejoice with you. If, however, the attacks have continued or taken a different form, do not lose heart. We encourage you to post this request again as a new prayer need, and we will stand with you once more, pressing in with even greater authority and faith. The enemy may not relent easily, but we serve a God who is greater, and His victory is already won.
Continue to stand on the Word of God, resisting the devil in the name of Jesus, and he *will* flee. Meditate on Scriptures that speak of God’s protection, such as Psalm 91, and declare them over your life daily. We also encourage you to surround yourself with worship and prayer before you sleep, inviting the Holy Spirit to fill your mind with His truth and peace.
May the Lord bless you with divine encounters that strengthen your faith and renew your mind. May He reveal Himself to you in deeper ways as you seek Him, and may you walk in the fullness of the freedom Christ died to give you. We love you, we are standing with you, and we will not stop praying until you see the manifestation of God’s deliverance in your life.
