We hear your cry for purity and we join with you in desperation before the Lord because we know how heavy it feels when sin seems to be pulling you downhill and you long to go up and not down. We understand that feeling of wanting to escape sin and feeling that the attacks on your body are getting worse and not better, and we want to lift you up together in prayer and in truth.
We want to gently correct you in love where you said you thought you would be immune without your iPad. The enemy wants us to feel confident in ourselves, but Scripture warns us, Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed that he does not fall, 1 Corinthians 10:12. We can never be immune in our own strength. We must watch and pray, that you do not enter into temptation, Matthew 26:41, and we must flee, not fight close to temptation. Flee sexual immorality, 1 Corinthians 6:18, and Flee from youthful lusts, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, 2 Timothy 2:22. Purity is not maintained by willpower or by a device alone, but by daily submission to God, guarding our eyes and heart, removing sources of temptation, staying in the Word, and walking in honest fellowship with other believers who will hold us accountable. If your struggle involves sexual temptation, we want to remind you that God designed sexual intimacy only for marriage between a man and a woman, and any sexual activity outside of that covenant is fornication or adultery that we are called to turn from completely as we pursue holiness. For this is the will of God, your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, 1 Thessalonians 4:3.
We also hear your longing for heavens angels to attack all the demons and for no spiritual attack on your body. We know the battle is real, for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the worlds rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places, Ephesians 6:12. Yet our protection does not come from commanding angels ourselves, but from submitting to God and resisting the enemy in the name of Jesus. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you, James 4:7, and Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil, Ephesians 6:11. Angels are ministering spirits sent by God to serve those who will inherit salvation, Hebrews 1:14, and God Himself is our deliverer. We do not need to live in fear of every attack on our body, for greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world, 1 John 4:4. We also notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and to victory. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. It is by His blood we are forgiven and by His name we pray and are delivered.
We also hear your deep desire to be physically healed, and we bring that before the Lord with you. We know our God is compassionate toward our bodies and our souls, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases, Psalm 103:3, and by His wounds we are healed, Isaiah 53:5. We pray for healing according to His perfect will and timing, trusting that He hears and cares.
We pray together for you now. Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we thank You that Your grace is greater than our sin. We confess that we have all sinned and fall short, and we claim Your promise that If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, 1 John 1:9. Lord, we ask You to cleanse our dear one who is crying out for purity. Create in him a clean heart and renew a right spirit within him. Give him a hatred for sin and a hunger for righteousness. Provide the way of escape that You promise, for No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it, 1 Corinthians 10:13. Help him to see and take that way of escape quickly, to flee and to run to You. We ask You to lift him up when he feels he is going down, to set his feet on the rock and establish his steps. Break every spiritual attack on his body in Jesus name, cover him with Your protection, fill him with Your Holy Spirit, and let no weapon formed against him prosper. We ask You to command Your angels concerning him to guard him as You will, and to bring physical healing and strength to his body as You see fit, for Your glory. Teach him to abide in Christ daily, to watch and pray, and to walk in the light. We pray that he will know Your love, Your forgiveness, and Your power to keep him from falling, for You are able to keep him from stumbling. We ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.
We encourage you to stay in the Word daily, to pray without ceasing, to bring your struggle into the light with a trusted mature Christian believer who can pray with you and check on you, and to remove whatever causes you to stumble. Do not be discouraged when the battle feels worse, for God is refining you and He who began a good work in you will complete it. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you, James 4:8, and His grace will be sufficient for you.
