Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this need and allowing us to pray with you. God cares about the practical details of daily life, and it is right to bring even a household need like hot water before Him and ask for His help.
Living without reliable water is a reminder of how essential water is. The body cannot go long without it, and in the dry lands of the Bible, people had to think constantly about where their next water would come from. That is why Scripture so often uses thirst and water to point to a deeper need. Jesus spoke to a woman at a well and told her that the water from that well would leave her thirsty again, but the water He gives becomes a fresh spring within a person, welling up to eternal life. He also invited anyone who is thirsty to come to Him and drink, promising that rivers of living water would flow from within. In the wilderness God provided water from a rock for His people. That rock had to be struck once, and afterward the people could simply ask and receive. In the same way, Christ was struck for us, and now the water of life is freely offered to all who ask Him in faith.
While you wait for the physical water in your home to be restored, you can still drink deeply of that living water that never runs out and never leaves you thirsty. Your need for daily water and your need for Christ both point to dependence on the Lord, and He invites you to bring both to Him.
We are praying for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus we bring this practical need before You. You see the difficulty of being without hot water and You know the person who is responsible for repairs. We ask that You would grant favor and move on his heart to respond quickly and helpfully, and that the system would be restored to normal working order as soon as possible. Provide what is needed, give peace while waiting, and remind this household of Your faithful care in both small and great things. Fill each heart with the living water that only Christ can give, so that even in inconvenience there is assurance, contentment and trust in You. We ask this trusting that You hear and answer according to Your good will. Amen.
May the Lord encourage you as you trust Him for this need and may you know the refreshment of His presence each day.
