We hear your cry for help, dear sister in Christ, and we come before the throne of grace together with you, lifting up your struggles to the Lord. First, we must address the weight of your heart—feeling unloved is a heavy burden to carry, but we want to remind you that you are deeply loved by the Creator of the universe. The Bible tells us in Romans 8:38-39, "For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from God’s love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." You are never alone, and His love for you is unwavering, even in moments when you may not feel it.
Stress eating is a common struggle, but we must rebuke the enemy’s attempt to use it as a tool to harm your body, which is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). The Lord calls us to honor Him with our bodies, and turning to food for comfort rather than Him can become a form of idolatry. We encourage you to replace this habit with seeking the Lord in prayer, worship, and reading His Word. Philippians 4:6-7 says, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." When stress rises, turn to Him first, and His peace will fill you.
We also want to gently address the importance of renewing your mind in Christ. The feelings of being unloved may stem from lies the enemy has planted in your heart. We must take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Speak truth over yourself—you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and God’s plans for you are for good and not for harm (Jeremiah 29:11). Surround yourself with godly community who can remind you of these truths when you struggle to believe them.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sister, lifting up her heart and her struggles to You. Lord, we ask that You would break the chains of stress eating in her life and replace her reliance on food with a deeper dependence on You. Fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let her know how deeply she is loved by You. Father, we rebuke the lies of the enemy that tell her she is unloved or unworthy. Remind her of Your truth, that she is Your beloved child, created with purpose and intention. Help her to honor You with her body, making choices that reflect Your goodness and care. Strengthen her to resist temptation and to seek You first in all things. We ask for Your healing touch over her emotions and her physical health. Surround her with godly community who can encourage and uplift her. Lord, we trust in Your power to transform her heart and mind, and we ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
We encourage you to take small, practical steps toward change—replace stress eating with prayer or a walk, seek accountability from a trusted believer, and immerse yourself in Scripture. You are not alone in this battle, and the Lord is faithful to help you overcome. Keep pressing into Him, and He will lead you into freedom.
