Ivy went out her window door, and could not re-enter - the rickety platform she climbed had
been tipped over when I went out in the am. I did not hear anything I was asleep. It has rained
all day and all night last night. I am dreadfully afraid a coyote got her. Please pray for her safety
that she remains in until it is safe for her to come home. And for her to know how to come home
and for her bravery to make it back home. I am praying non stop novenas... please pray with me.
I feel it was my fault if anything has happened to her.

We join with you in prayer for ### and we hear the deep ache and worry in your heart as you wait through this rain and fear for her safety, and we lift both of you before our Father together in Jesus name.

We know how precious our animals are to us and how heavy the guilt can feel when something happens while we were asleep and unaware. The Lord sees your tender care for ### and He cares for her as well, for His eye is on all His creation. A righteous man respects the life of his animal Proverbs 12:10 and we are told Aren't two sparrows sold for an assarion? Not one of them falls to the ground without your Father's knowledge Matthew 10:29 and again Are not five sparrows sold for two assaria? Not one of them is forgotten by God Luke 12:6. If He watches over the sparrows, how much more does He see ### right now, wherever she is sheltering from the rain, and He knows exactly where she is.

We also hear your fear about the coyotes and the storm and your prayer that she would stay hidden until it is safe and find courage and wisdom to make her way home. We pray with you for her protection and for her to be guided back, and we cast this worry upon the Lord because He cares for you 1 Peter 5:7. We are reminded In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We pray that peace would guard your heart even as you wait.

We want to gently encourage you about the guilt you feel, that it was your fault if anything has happened to her. The enemy often uses guilt to burden us, but the Lord does not want you crushed by condemnation. We know that for those who love God, all things work together for good for those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28, and He is close to the brokenhearted Psalm 34:18. You did not intend harm, the platform was rickety and tipped, and you were asleep and did not hear her. We pray you will release that false guilt to Jesus and trust His sovereign care both for you and for ###.

We also noticed you mentioned praying nonstop novenas and we want to lovingly point you to what Scripture teaches about prayer. We do not need repeated prayers or intercession through Mary or saints, for there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5. Jesus Himself said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. Your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to remind you that it is only through His name that we have access to God and confidence that He hears us. The Father knows what we need before we ask and He does not ask for vain repetitions, for in praying, don't use vain repetitions, as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking. Therefore don't be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him Matthew 6:7-8. So we come simply and directly to the Father through Jesus Christ, trusting His mercy.

We pray together now, Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, and we thank You that we can approach Your throne with confidence through Him. Lord, we lift ### to You, this little one You created and who is so loved. We ask for Your hand of protection over her wherever she is in this rain and cold, keep her hidden and safe from coyotes and from all harm, keep her warm and dry until she can safely move. Give her wisdom to know how to come home and courage to make the journey, and guide her steps back to the window door and to the arms that love her. Lord, we ask that You would calm her fear and calm the heart of the one who loves her, take away the dread and the self blame and fill that heart with Your peace that surpasses understanding. Forgive us where we have trusted in rituals instead of in Christ alone, and teach us to pray with faith in Jesus name. We ask that You would bring ### home safely if it is Your will, and that even in this waiting Your comfort would be felt. We trust her into Your hands, for You care for all Your creatures and You care deeply for us. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to keep that window access open and safe if you can, to place familiar scents near the entry, and to look quietly at dawn and dusk when cats often move, calling gently and listening, trusting the Lord to lead her home. We continue to pray with you for ###'s safe return and for your peace in Christ.

We have been thinking of you and ### through this rainy, sleepless stretch. Waiting and not knowing is so hard, and it makes sense that your mind would go to the worst possibilities with coyotes and the storm, and that you would feel responsible. From what you shared, this was an accident with the platform, not a failure on your part. Your care for her comes through so clearly.

We are praying with you for her protection wherever she is sheltering, for her to stay hidden until it is safe, and for her to find the courage and the way back to your window.

In these first hours many indoor cats stay very close, often hiding under a porch, deck, bushes or in a garage. If you are able, you might quietly check those nearby hiding places at dusk or dawn when it is calmer, leave a familiar scent like her bedding or your worn shirt near the window door without putting out food that might attract wildlife, and let close neighbors know to watch for her and check their sheds. If she does not return soon, a quick call to local animal services to leave a description can also help.

Father, we lift ### to You and ask for Your keeping over her tonight. Guide her to safety and guide her home, and give her owner peace as she waits and watches. Comfort her heart and lift this burden of guilt, reminding her she is not alone. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your sorrowful note has been heard with tender sympathy, and your love for ### is not hidden from Him who notices even the sparrow's fall.

It is a heavy trial when a little creature so dear to you is exposed to danger and storm, and when the heart adds to its grief the sharp thought, it was my fault. That sense of guilt can strain the conscience sorely, but hear the good word of the gospel, that the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin, and that when the Son removes guilt the Spirit is gracious to bring peace. Do not let self accusation become a snare to keep you from the throne of grace. Confess freely before the Lord as a sinner needing His mercy, and then believe that mercy is yours through the matchless Atonement. He does not hold your infirmity against you as an unpardonable thing, but invites you to cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

And concerning your anxiety, take heed that the very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. You have watched and prayed through rain and night, and fear has told you of the coyote and the cold. Yet the Lord would have you play the part of faith and let faith overcome fear. Fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed for I am your God. That fear not is a plant which grows very plentifully in God's garden, and it is spoken for such an hour as this. Everything is appointed by God, and He who appoints the trial appoints also the deliverance. At the time appointed the end shall be.

So we will pray with you, not by multiplying words as though we could prevail by much speaking, but by a simple childlike trust in our one Mediator, the Lord Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father.

We pray that the Lord in His providence would keep ### safe this night, that He would shelter her under His wings as a hen gathers her brood, that no harm would befall her in the rain or from any beast of the field. We ask that He would keep her hidden and still till it is safe to stir, and then give her wisdom and bravery to find her way home, and guide her feet back to the window from which she went out. We pray that He would calm your heart, lift the burden of false guilt, and give you to rest in His keeping, knowing that whether ### is near or far she is not out of His sight, and you are not out of His love.

May the Lord bring her home again in His kindness, and may He give you grace to wait patiently upon Him, casting every care upon Him who has promised, I will help you, I will uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness.

We are joining you in prayer for ### and for your own heart in this distressing time, and we hear how heavy this burden feels after the rain and the long night of waiting.

We ask our merciful Father, in the name of Jesus Christ His Son through whom alone we have access to God, to keep ### safe wherever she is, to shelter her from harm and from predators, to calm her fear and to guide her steps home. We pray that the Lord who sees even the sparrow fall and who knows all His creation would lead her to find her way back, give her bravery and clear direction, and open a safe path for her return. We also pray for you, that God would grant you peace, rest from anxious thoughts, and comfort in His loving care while you wait.

Please do not carry a crushing sense of guilt as if this were a willful wrong on your part. You did not intend this, you were asleep and did not hear, and accidents with a broken platform are not the same as neglect of the soul. God is compassionate and does not measure you by a moment you could not control. Cast your anxiety on Him because He cares for you, and trust His goodness even as you continue to search and watch.

We will continue to pray with you, not through repeated formulas to earn His favor, but through simple, earnest prayer in the name of Jesus, who is our one mediator and hope. If you are able, keep a gentle light and a familiar scent near the window door, look quietly in sheltered places nearby when the rain eases, and ask neighbors to watch as well, while you rest in the Lord's watch over all things.

May the Lord grant ### protection and a safe return, and may He fill your heart with His peace that passes understanding as you trust Him. We are praying that you will soon rejoice to have her home again, and that whether in waiting or in reunion, you will know the nearness and kindness of Christ.
