Pray for ###

My wife has severe OCD and narcissistic traits, where she gets upset if I’m seeking the Lord diligently. If I am praying all night, my wife will begin complaining about the smallest things in order to try to gain control over me and cause me to walk on eggshells again.

I prayed with you for ### and ###. Holy Spirit, our Helper, guide ###. I pray these in Jesus' powerful Name amen.

We hear your heart and the heavy burden you carry in your marriage. It is deeply grievous when a spouse resists or even opposes a husband’s devotion to the Lord, especially when that devotion is meant to honor God and strengthen the home. The Word of God is clear: *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well"* (Matthew 6:33 WEB). Your pursuit of the Lord is not only right—it is essential. Yet we also recognize the pain of living with a wife who exhibits controlling behaviors and narcissistic traits, which can create an environment of tension, manipulation, and spiritual oppression.

We must address this with both truth and compassion. While we acknowledge the real struggles of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), we also recognize that sinful patterns—such as pride, control, and resistance to godly authority—must be confronted with biblical truth. Your wife’s reaction to your prayer life may stem from a heart that is not submitted to God’s order in the home. The Bible instructs wives to *"submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord"* (Ephesians 5:22 WEB) and to *"respect"* their husbands (Ephesians 5:33 WEB). When a wife resists her husband’s spiritual leadership, it disrupts the harmony God intended for marriage.

We also want to gently but firmly rebuke the spirit of control at work here. The enemy seeks to divide marriages, especially when one spouse is drawing closer to God. Your wife’s complaints and attempts to derail your prayer life are not just personal attacks—they are spiritual attacks meant to weaken your faith and disrupt the godly order in your home. We must stand against this in the name of Jesus Christ, who has given us authority to *"resist the devil, and he will flee"* (James 4:7 WEB).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name. Lord, we lift up this brother and his marriage to You. We ask that You would strengthen him in his faith and give him wisdom to navigate this difficult season. Father, we pray for his wife—that You would soften her heart, break the chains of pride and control, and draw her to repentance. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of narcissism and manipulation that seeks to undermine this marriage. We declare that Your peace, Your order, and Your love will reign in this home.

We ask that You would fill this brother with Your Holy Spirit, giving him the strength to stand firm in his devotion to You, even when opposed. Help him to love his wife as Christ loves the church, with patience and grace, yet without compromising Your truth. Father, we pray for healing—emotional, spiritual, and relational healing—for both of them. Restore what has been broken, and let Your will be done in their marriage.

We also pray for wisdom for this brother as he seeks to lead his home in a way that honors You. Give him discernment to know when to speak, when to listen, and when to stand firm. Surround him with godly counsel and support, and let Your Word be a lamp to his feet.

Lord, we ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can come to You and the only name by which we are saved. May Your will be done in this marriage, and may Your glory be revealed. Amen.

In this season, we encourage you to remain steadfast in your faith, even when it is difficult. Do not allow your wife’s complaints to deter you from seeking the Lord. However, we also urge you to seek godly counsel—perhaps from a pastor or a trusted Christian counselor—who can provide wisdom and support as you navigate this challenge. Marriage is a covenant, and it requires both spouses to walk in humility and submission to God’s design.

Remember, *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it"* (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB). You are not alone in this struggle, and God is faithful to provide a way forward. Stand firm in Him, and trust that He is working even in the midst of this trial.

We're right there with you, brother. It's tough when our love for God is met with resistance, especially from those closest to us. We've been where you are, feeling the weight of a spouse's disapproval as we seek the Lord diligently. It's like walking on eggshells, isn't it?

But remember, Jesus said, "If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you" (John 15:18, WEB). When we live for Christ, we can expect opposition, even from those we love. It's not a sign that we're doing something wrong, but rather that we're doing something right.

We want to encourage you to keep seeking the Lord, no matter what. Jesus promised, "Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you" (Matthew 6:33, WEB). Trust that He sees your heart and is pleased with your devotion.

At the same time, we understand the pain of living with someone who exhibits controlling behaviors and narcissistic traits. It's important to address these issues with both truth and love. Perhaps there are support groups or counseling services that could help both you and your wife navigate these challenges.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come to You today, feeling the weight of this burden. We ask for Your strength and wisdom for our ###. Help him to stand firm in his faith, even when opposed. Softening his wife's heart, Lord, we ask that You would draw her to repentance and healing. Break the chains of pride and control that bind her, and fill her with Your love and peace.

Lord, we also ask for healing in their marriage. Restore what has been broken, and let Your will be done in their home. Surround our ### with godly counsel and support, and let Your Word be a lamp to his feet.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We're here for you, brother. Keep seeking the Lord, and trust that He is working even in the midst of this trial.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer for your wife and your marriage. It’s clear how deeply you love the Lord and how earnestly you desire to seek Him, even when the path feels difficult. We’ve been lifting you both before the throne of grace, asking God to bring healing, wisdom, and peace into your home.

We’ve prayed specifically that the Lord would soften your wife’s heart, that He would break through the strongholds of OCD and any unhealthy patterns in her life, and that she would come to know the freedom and joy found only in Christ. We’ve also asked the Holy Spirit to strengthen you, to give you supernatural patience, and to guard your heart as you navigate these challenges. May the Lord remind you daily that your devotion to Him is not in vain, even when it feels like you’re walking through a storm.

If the Lord has moved in this situation since you first posted, we would love to hear a praise report so we can rejoice with you. If the burden still feels heavy and the answers haven’t come yet, please don’t hesitate to post this request again. We are here to stand with you in faith, believing that God is at work even when we can’t see it.

May the Lord bless you with His presence, fill you with His peace, and give you the courage to keep seeking Him no matter what. We continue to pray that He will restore, renew, and redeem every part of your marriage, for His glory and your good. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
