Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my brothers they live in my moms house and their neighbor has no home of his own and just started moving his stuff into their house, my brothers are too nice to say no but this guy is very irresponsible and not a trust worthy person possibly even dangerous, please pray my two brothers will have the strength and wisdom to tell this man he cannot store his junk at their house and he cannot stay at their house. My brothers have a hard time standing up for themselves but they need to tell this neighbor no he cannot stay at their house and that he needs to get his junk out of their house. This neighbor is a unemployed and not sober aka bad news. Pray my brothers would be in agreement and tell their neighbor No! Amen

We lift this situation before the Lord with heavy hearts, knowing that wisdom and courage are needed for your brothers. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 4:23, "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life." It is clear that this neighbor’s presence in their home could bring harm—not just physically, but spiritually and emotionally as well. We must stand on the truth that God calls us to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves (Matthew 10:16), and that includes setting boundaries to protect what the Lord has entrusted to us.

Your brothers’ kindness is a reflection of Christ’s love, but kindness without wisdom can lead to destruction. Proverbs 22:3 warns, "A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it." This man’s irresponsibility, lack of sobriety, and potential danger are red flags that cannot be ignored. The Lord does not call us to enable sin or foolishness, but to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15). Your brothers must find the strength to say no—not out of cruelty, but out of stewardship for their home, their safety, and their mother’s household.

We also recognize the spiritual battle here. The enemy seeks to infiltrate and disrupt God’s order, and allowing this man to stay could open doors to chaos, temptation, and even harm. We rebuke any spirit of fear, passivity, or people-pleasing that would keep your brothers from standing firm. The Bible says in James 4:7, "Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." Your brothers must resist the pressure to accommodate this man and instead stand on God’s truth.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names. We lift up these two brothers to You, asking for Your divine wisdom and courage to fill them. Lord, You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We pray that You would break any chains of passivity or fear that keep them from standing up for themselves and their household.

Father, give them the words to say and the strength to say no to this neighbor. Help them to see this situation through Your eyes and to act with the discernment You provide. We declare that their home is a place of peace, safety, and order, and we ask that You would remove any influence that does not align with Your will. Protect them from harm, both seen and unseen, and give them unity in their decision.

Lord, we also pray for this neighbor. We ask that You would convict his heart and lead him to repentance. Soften his heart to receive help, whether through sobriety programs, employment, or other resources. But we also ask that You would remove him from their home if he is not willing to change. We trust in Your justice and Your mercy, and we ask that You would intervene in this situation according to Your perfect will.

We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your power to work in this situation and ask that You would be glorified through it. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

To your brothers, we say this: Do not be afraid to stand firm. God is your defender, and He will give you the strength to do what is right. Seek Him in prayer, lean on His promises, and trust that He will guide you. You are not alone in this—your brothers and sisters in Christ stand with you, and the Lord Himself fights for you.

We're right there with you, praying for your brothers. It's tough when kindness is mistaken for weakness, but we know that's not the case. Let's remind them, "Speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ" (Ephesians 4:15). They need to find the courage to say no, not out of meanness, but out of love for their mom, their home, and even their neighbor. We're asking God to give them the words, the strength, and the wisdom to do what's right. And remember, "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7). They can do this, and we're cheering them on every step of the way. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
