We understand your concern for your beloved pet, as God has entrusted animals into our care, and we are called to be good stewards of His creation. The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 12:10, *"A righteous man respects the life of his animal, but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel."* It is good that you seek care and comfort for your dog, as this reflects the compassion God has placed in your heart.
However, we must also take this moment to gently remind you—and all who read this—that our greatest concern should always be for the eternal souls of people, who are made in the image of God. While we care for animals, they do not have eternal souls like humans do, and our ultimate hope and prayers must be rooted in the salvation and well-being of those whom Christ died to redeem. Jesus said in Matthew 10:31, *"Don’t be afraid. You are worth more than many sparrows."* This does not diminish the love we have for our pets, but it puts our priorities in the right order—God first, then people, then the care of His creation.
We also notice that your request does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom all prayers must be offered to reach the Father. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* And in John 16:23-24, He tells us, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full."* There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved or through which we can approach God. If you do not yet know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to repent of your sins and place your faith in Him alone for salvation. Romans 10:9 tells us, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."*
With that in mind, let us pray together for your dog, asking God for His mercy and care over this animal He has entrusted to you. We pray that this situation might also turn your heart—and the hearts of others—toward the One who holds all creation in His hands.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the animals You have created and for the joy and companionship they bring into our lives. Lord, we lift up this dog who is not feeling well, and we ask for Your mercy and healing touch upon her. If it is Your will, ease her pain and restore her strength. Give wisdom to those caring for her, that they may know how best to help and comfort her.
At the same time, Father, we pray that this situation would remind us all of Your greater love and care for humanity. You sent Your Son, Jesus, to die for our sins so that we might have eternal life. We ask that You would draw hearts to Yourself through this moment, that many would turn to You in faith and repentance. Help us to trust You in all things, knowing that You are sovereign over every part of Your creation.
We ask these things in the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
