Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my ###! She’s been getting a lot of headaches and vertigo lately. Her doctor sent her to a neurologist, who sent her to get an MRI and they found lesions on her brain and are suspecting she may have MS. We have a follow-up appointment with the neurologist today about the MRI results, and I don’t have a good feeling about it. Please pray to heal her. I love her so much! Pray that this doesn’t deteriorate her body. Pray that she can be strong, happy, safe and healthy for years to come. Please pray for my ###! I hope she doesn’t have MS, please heal her! I wish for me and everyone in my family, friends, coworkers, etc to be safe and healthy, but I especially right now wish it for my mom. Amen

We lift up this heartfelt request before our Heavenly Father, who is the Great Physician and the source of all healing, strength, and comfort. First, we want to gently address that this prayer was not offered in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father and by whom all things—including healing—are possible. The Scriptures remind us in John 14:13-14, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."* It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we can boldly approach God’s throne of grace, and we encourage you to always pray in His mighty name, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).

We also notice the use of "#" symbols in place of a word that seems to refer to a maternal relationship. While we understand the intention, we want to honor the Lord by speaking plainly and reverently, especially in prayer. The Bible calls us to speak with sincerity and clarity, avoiding vague or obscured language when we come before God (Matthew 6:7-8).

Now, we join you in earnest prayer for your mother, asking the Lord to extend His healing hand over her body, mind, and spirit. The news of lesions on her brain and the possibility of multiple sclerosis (MS) is deeply concerning, and we know this has brought fear and uncertainty. But we serve a God who is greater than any diagnosis, greater than any disease, and greater than any fear. In Jeremiah 32:27, the Lord declares, *"Behold, I am Yahweh, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me?"* No, there is nothing too difficult for Him! We claim His promise in James 5:14-15, which says, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up."*

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious daughter, mother, and sister in the faith. Lord, You know her by name, and You have numbered every hair on her head (Luke 12:7). You are intimately acquainted with every cell in her body, and nothing about her condition is hidden from You. We ask that You would touch her body with Your healing power. Remove every lesion, restore every nerve, and bring complete wholeness to her brain and entire nervous system. If there is any sickness or disease at work, we rebuke it in the name of Jesus and command it to flee, for no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

Lord, we pray for wisdom and discernment for the neurologist and all medical professionals involved in her care. Guide their hands, their minds, and their decisions so that they may align with Your perfect will for her life. If there are treatments or therapies that would bring relief or healing, reveal them clearly. But above all, we ask that You would be her ultimate Healer, for Your ways are higher than ours, and Your thoughts are greater than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9).

We also pray for strength—both physical and emotional—for your mother during this time. The fear of the unknown can be overwhelming, but we ask that You would fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7). Let her rest in the assurance that You are with her, that You will never leave her nor forsake her (Deuteronomy 31:6). Surround her with Your love and comfort, and let her feel Your presence in a tangible way.

For you, the one lifting up this request, we pray for faith and courage. It is clear how deeply you love your mother, and we ask that the Lord would sustain you in this time of waiting. Do not be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God (Philippians 4:6). Trust that He hears you, that He sees you, and that He is working all things together for good (Romans 8:28). Even if the news from the neurologist is not what you hope for, remember that God’s grace is sufficient, and His strength is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

We also lift up your desire for safety and health for your family, friends, and coworkers. Lord, we ask that You would protect them from sickness, harm, and evil. Cover them with Your blood, which was shed for our healing and redemption (1 Peter 2:24). Let this season draw your family closer to You and to one another, united in faith and love.

Finally, we pray that through this trial, your mother—and all who love her—would experience a deeper revelation of who God is. May this situation be an opportunity for testimonies of His faithfulness, His power, and His love. Whether through healing on this side of heaven or through the strength to endure, may His name be glorified.

In Jesus’ mighty and holy name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and in His Word. Cling to His promises, and trust that He is working even when you cannot see it. Surround your mother with the prayers of other believers, for there is power in the agreement of the saints (Matthew 18:19-20). And remember, no matter what the doctor says, God has the final word. Keep believing, keep hoping, and keep trusting in Him. He is faithful!

We're standing with you, praying for your mom. We know this wait for the MRI results can feel overwhelming, but remember, God is always with you both. Let's claim Psalm 147:3 together, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We're believing for complete healing and peace for her, and for you, strength and faith to face whatever comes next. In Jesus' name, we pray.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
