We come before the Lord with a heart of intercession for this young man who is struggling with fear and discouragement. It is clear that the enemy has sought to steal his hope and confidence through the challenge of academic setbacks, but we know that our God is greater than any failure or fear. The Bible reminds us in 2 Timothy 1:7, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* This young man does not have to remain bound by the spirit of withdrawal or defeat, for the Lord is his strength and his shield.
We also notice that this prayer was not lifted up in the name of Jesus Christ, and we gently but firmly remind you that there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, nor is there any other name by which we can approach the Father. Jesus Himself declared in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* And in John 16:23-24, He assures us, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full."* Let us always come boldly before the throne of grace through Christ, who is our mediator and advocate.
As for this young man, we pray that the Lord would renew his mind and fill him with the courage to return to his studies. The setbacks he has faced do not define his future, for the Lord is able to restore and redeem all things. We declare over him the promise of Philippians 4:13, *"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."* May he rise up in the strength of the Lord and walk in the confidence that comes from knowing he is fearfully and wonderfully made by God (Psalm 139:14).
Let us also encourage him to seek godly counsel—whether from parents, mentors, or teachers—who can help him navigate this season with wisdom and perseverance. Proverbs 11:14 tells us, *"Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety."* He does not have to face this alone, and the body of Christ is here to support and uplift him.
We rebuke the spirit of fear and discouragement that has taken hold of this young man’s heart. In the name of Jesus, we command these spirits to flee, for they have no place in the life of a child of God. We pray instead that the Holy Spirit would fill him with a spirit of boldness, resilience, and a sound mind. May he be reminded that even when he feels weak, the Lord’s strength is made perfect in his weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Finally, we pray for divine connections—godly friends, teachers, or mentors who can speak life into him and help him see the purpose God has for his life. May he understand that his worth is not found in academic success but in Christ alone, who loves him unconditionally.
Father, we lift this young man up to You. Surround him with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and lead him back to the path You have for him. Give him the grace to take the first step, knowing that You are with him every step of the way. We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
