We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord, knowing that God has a perfect plan for his life. It is beautiful that you are seeking the Lord’s guidance for him at such a young age, for Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 22:6, *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."* Your prayers and faith are planting seeds that will bear fruit in his life as he grows in wisdom and understanding.
We also encourage you to teach him the fear of the Lord, for Proverbs 1:7 tells us, *"The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge; but the foolish despise wisdom and instruction."* Let him know that true success comes not just from academic achievement but from walking in obedience to God’s Word. As he studies, remind him of Colossians 3:23, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men,"* so that his motivation comes from honoring Christ in all things.
If your son struggles with discouragement, let him meditate on Philippians 4:13, *"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."* Difficulties are opportunities for growth, and with God’s help, he can overcome every challenge. We also pray that you, as his parent, will be filled with wisdom and patience as you guide him, remembering Ephesians 6:4, *"You fathers, don’t provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."*
Now, let us pray together for your son:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious child to You. Lord, You know the plans You have for him—plans for good and not for evil, to give him a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We ask that You ignite in him a love for learning and a hunger for knowledge that aligns with Your will. Give him the discipline to pick up his books, to study diligently, and to catch up on what he has missed. Strengthen his mind, Lord, and help him to retain what he learns.
When challenges come, Father, fill him with perseverance. Let him not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, he will reap if he does not give up (Galatians 6:9). Surround him with godly influences—teachers, mentors, and friends who will encourage him in his academic journey and in his walk with You. Remove any distractions or temptations that would hinder his progress, and let him find joy in the work of his hands.
We also pray for his salvation, Lord. If he does not yet know You, draw him to Yourself. Let him understand that true wisdom begins with the fear of You (Proverbs 9:10). May he grow to love Your Word and seek Your will in all things.
Father, we ask for Your grace and favor over his life. Open doors of opportunity for him, and let him walk in the confidence that comes from knowing You are with him. We rebuked any spirit of laziness, distraction, or discouragement in the name of Jesus Christ. Let him rise above every obstacle and walk in the victory You have already secured for him.
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your faithfulness and believe that You are working all things together for his good (Romans 8:28). May he bring glory to Your name in everything he does. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
Stand firm in your faith, knowing that God is at work in your son’s life. Continue to cover him in prayer, speak life over him, and trust that the Lord will complete the good work He has started (Philippians 1:6). If there is any area in his life where he is struggling spiritually or morally, do not hesitate to address it with biblical truth and love. We are here to support you in prayer and counsel as you raise him in the ways of the Lord.
