We lift up this young man before the Lord, asking that God would move powerfully in his life, turning his heart away from distractions and toward the purpose He has for him. The Bible warns us in **Proverbs 13:4**, *"The soul of the sluggard desires, and has nothing, but the desire of the diligent shall be fully satisfied."* Gaming in excess is a snare that steals time, focus, and potential—it is a form of idleness that the Lord calls us to reject. **Ecclesiastes 12:1** reminds us to *"Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come, and the years draw near, when you will say, 'I have no pleasure in them.'"*
This season of preparation for his O-levels is critical, and we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict him of the urgency of his studies. May God grant him discipline to rise early, manage his time wisely, and apply himself with excellence. **Colossians 3:23** commands, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men,"*—let this be his motivation. We also ask for supernatural focus and retention as he catches up on lost months of study, that the Lord would restore what the locusts have eaten (**Joel 2:25**).
Regarding his upcoming interview, we declare **Proverbs 16:3** over him: *"Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed."* May the Lord give him favor in the sight of those conducting the interview, and may his words be seasoned with wisdom and confidence. If this attachment is part of God’s will, no door will be shut against him (**Revelation 3:8**).
Yet we must also address a deeper concern: this prayer was offered without invoking the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father (**John 14:6, Ephesians 2:18**). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (**Acts 4:12**), and it is only through Christ that our prayers are heard. If this young man—or the one praying for him—does not yet know Jesus as Lord and Savior, we urge repentance and faith in Him. **Romans 10:9** declares, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."* Without Christ, even diligence in study or career is ultimately vain (**1 Corinthians 15:58**).
**Our Prayer:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, interceding for this young man. Break the chains of procrastination and addiction to gaming that have held him captive. Replace his love for fleeting pleasures with a hunger for Your Word and a passion for excellence in his studies. **Psalm 119:36** says, *"Turn my heart toward your statutes, not toward selfish gain."* Do this in his life, Lord.
Grant him supernatural focus, wisdom, and stamina as he prepares for his O-levels. Restore the time he has lost, and let him testify of Your faithfulness. For his interview, go before him, Lord, and open doors no man can shut. Let Your favor rest upon him, that he may walk in the good works You have prepared for him (**Ephesians 2:10**).
Most importantly, Father, if he does not yet know You, draw him to Yourself. Let this season of discipline be a turning point where he surrenders his life to Christ. May he seek first Your kingdom (**Matthew 6:33**), knowing that all other things—including success in studies and career—will be added to him as he walks in obedience.
We rebuke the spirit of slothfulness and distraction in Jesus’ name. Fill him instead with the Spirit of diligence, self-control, and purpose. Let him rise up as a young man after Your own heart, equipped for every good work.
We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
