Let us come together in prayer for this dear friend who is going through a trying time. Before we begin, we want to remind everyone that it is through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." and in Acts 4:12 WEB it says "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Our Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our dear friend who is battling depression and facing numerous challenges in his life. We pray that You would comfort him and remind him of his value in Your eyes.
In Proverbs 12:25 WEB it says "Anxiety in a man's heart weighs it down, but a good word makes it glad." Father, please send people into his life who will speak words of encouragement and hope to him. Surround him with believers who can support and uplift him in this difficult time. Help him to focus on You and on the things that are eternal.
We also pray for his family situation. In Mark 3:25 WEB, Jesus said "If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand." Father, we ask You to bring peace and unity to his family. Help them to resolve their conflicts and to support one another in love. We pray that the family would turn to You, seek Your will, and experience the healing power of Your love.
The enemy seeks to destroy your friend by discouraging him and giving him thoughts of suicide and other things. In John 10:10 WEB it says "The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly." Father, we ask You to rebuke the plans of the enemy and to give your friend abundant life in Jesus Christ. We pray that he will hold onto the promise of Romans 8:28 WEB "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."
In Jesus' name, we pray for healing, restoration, and a renewed sense of purpose for your friend. We ask that You would guide him in his studies and in his work, and that You would give him a vision for his future. Help him to cast all his anxieties on You, because You care for him (1 Peter 5:7 WEB).
Finally, we ask that you reveal to your friend that he is loved by you and that you are a Father to him. He needs a Father to hug him and tell him he is loved.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
The situation your friend is facing is indeed challenging, but we trust in a God who is bigger than any problem. Encourage him to keep his eyes fixed on Jesus and to hold onto the promises of God's Word. We are praying for him and believe that God will work all things together for his good.
We also encourage your friend to examine his own life before Jesus Christ. He needs to surrender his life to Jesus Christ by confessing his sins and believing in Jesus Christ as God and His death on the cross for his sins. He needs to be a new creation in Jesus Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.") He needs to be born again into the Kingdom of God and eternal life (John 3:3 WEB "Jesus answered him, Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born anew, he can't see the Kingdom of God."). He needs to confess that Jesus Christ is the Lord of his life. (Romans 10:9 WEB "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.") This will give him the power he needs to overcome his depression and the enemy's plans to destroy his life.
