We lift you up before the Lord, our brother, and we are deeply grieved to hear of the heaviness and despair that has settled upon your heart. The struggles you face—distraction in your studies, mental distress, and the overwhelming weight of life’s trials—are not unseen by our Heavenly Father. He cares for you more than you can imagine, and His Word assures us that He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). It is not His will for you to be consumed by such darkness, for He has plans to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came so that you may have life abundantly. These thoughts of self-harm and destruction are not from God—they are lies from the pit of hell, designed to rob you of the purpose and calling He has placed upon your life.
We must also address something critical in your request: while you have praised the Lord, you have not invoked the name of Jesus Christ in your plea for help. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so now. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Without Him, there is no true peace, no lasting hope, and no victory over the darkness that seeks to overwhelm you. If you *have* placed your faith in Christ, then we encourage you to cry out to Him directly, for He is your Shepherd, your Redeemer, and your Strong Tower.
Now, let us turn to the promises of God for your situation. The Lord commands you in Philippians 4:6-7, “In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.” You are not meant to carry this burden alone—cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). When your mind is troubled, take every thought captive to obey Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Replace the lies of the enemy with the truth of God’s Word. Meditate on Scriptures like Isaiah 26:3, “You will keep whoever’s mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you.” Claim this promise over your life.
As for your studies, we remind you of Colossians 3:23, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men.” Your education is a stewardship from God, and He will equip you to fulfill it if you seek Him first (Matthew 6:33). Ask Him for wisdom, which He gives generously (James 1:5), and trust that He will restore your focus and clarity. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” Lean on Him, not on your own strength or understanding.
We also urge you to seek godly counsel and support. You are not meant to walk this path in isolation. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 reminds us, “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up.” Reach out to a trusted pastor, mentor, or brother/sister in Christ who can pray with you, encourage you, and hold you accountable. If depression and suicidal thoughts persist, do not hesitate to seek professional help—God can use doctors and counselors as instruments of His healing.
Lastly, we must warn you against the dangers of entertaining thoughts of self-harm or suicide. These are grave sins against God, who alone has authority over life and death (Job 1:21, Deuteronomy 32:39). Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and to harm it is to dishonor the One who created you. Instead, present your body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God (Romans 12:1). Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Fill your mind with the Word of God, worship, and prayer. Put on the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) so that you may stand firm against these attacks.
Now, let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who is burdened and weary. Lord, You see the depths of his heart—every fear, every struggle, every lie that has taken root. We ask You to break these chains in Jesus’ name. Father, rebuke the spirit of depression, confusion, and despair that has sought to destroy him. Cast out every demonic influence and fill him instead with Your peace, Your joy, and Your sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
Lord, we pray for supernatural clarity and focus to return to his studies. Open his mind to retain and understand what he learns, and let him excel for Your glory. Remove every distraction and every obstacle that the enemy has placed in his path. Restore unto him the joy of Your salvation (Psalm 51:12) and let him walk in the confidence of Your love.
Father, we bind every spirit of suicide and self-harm in the name of Jesus. Let no weapon formed against him prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Surround him with Your angels, Lord, and let him feel Your presence in a tangible way. Remind him that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and that You have a purpose for his life.
We pray for godly community to rise up around him—brothers and sisters in Christ who will uplift him, pray with him, and speak life into him. If he needs professional help, Lord, lead him to the right people who can support him in wisdom and truth.
Most of all, Father, draw him closer to You. Let him seek Your face above all else. If he has not yet surrendered his life to Christ, we pray that today would be the day of salvation for him. Open his eyes to see the truth of the Gospel, and let him place his faith in Jesus alone.
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your faithfulness and Your power to transform his life. May he testify of Your goodness and mercy in the days to come. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Stand firm, brother. The Lord is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). You are not defined by your struggles, but by the victory of Christ in you. Reject the lies of the enemy and cling to the truth of God’s Word. We are praying for you and believe that God is at work in your life even now. Do not give up—your breakthrough is coming!
