Pray for us

When the walls of your earthly dwelling crumble and your body is wracked with pain, remember that these very trials are permitted by a loving God to turn your heart from the fleeting shadows of this world to the enduring house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. The collapses you see are but a dream that will vanish when the day dawns; the house you weep over is a tent that must be dissolved so that you may long for that building from God. Do not let your soul be weighed down with despair or frantic grasping for wealth, for the love of money is a root of evils, and provision for the flesh must aim only at health, not at kindling the furnace of wanton desire. As I have often said, to be injured is not to suffer true injury; the one who seems stripped and afflicted receives the greater blessing if he endures nobly, while the one who wrongs or envies thrusts a sword into his own soul.

Your leg’s pain, the loss of your roof, the distress of sickness, these are not signs of God’s absence but occasions to practice that blessed patience which stores up treasure in heaven. Take care of your body soberly, as a steward, using remedies with thanksgiving, but do not fear its weakness overmuch, for this corruption must put on incorruption. As for the financial help you urgently seek, pray with confidence, yet let your prayer be free from the bitterness that demands immediate relief as if God were a debtor. He who feeds the sparrows will not despise your need, but He often delays that He may purify your hope.

Be not like those who add house to house by rapine, but wait upon the Lord with a peaceable spirit, and in His time He will raise you up. Meanwhile, let your mourning be tempered with the knowledge that the Kingdom of heaven is prepared for those who suffer wrong. The present life is indeed a sleep full of terrifying dreams, but the daybreak of Christ’s return will show that your true house stands unshakeable, your true body is glorious, and your true wealth is the grace sent from above. Hold fast, then, and let your distress drive you not to murmuring but to that sober wakefulness which stores oil in the lamp of faith.

The cry of your heart reaches the throne of God. In the collapse of your home and the pain in your body, you have done the one thing that truly matters: you have called upon the name of Jesus for help. Do not let go of that.

When our earthly shelters crumble, we learn what Israel was so slow to understand. The temptation in distress is to look frantically to the arm of flesh, as if salvation can be bought with money or secured by a quicker fix. But God sometimes allows every human prop to fail so that we stop leaning on what cannot hold us. Your house fell in the rain, but He remains a shelter that no storm can wash away. His promise stands firm: "In me is your help." Even when we have made a mess of our lives, He waits ready to restore. Turn your whole situation over to His lordship right now.

Do not be like those who run to empty alliances, grasping at one thing and then another for security, and never finding peace. Your need is for Him to rebuild not only your walls but your trust. Bring your pain and your empty purse directly to the Lord. Ask Him for healing in your leg. Ask Him for the finances to come swiftly. But as you ask, let your heart settle into a deeper truth: the greatest miracle is a soul that clings to God when everything visible has fallen. Let this trial drive you into His arms rather than into panic.

The house of God can become a house of idols when we misplace our priority, treasuring the gift above the Giver. Let this season be a reclaiming of your life as a dwelling place for Him. Cry out for mercy, for He is rich in it. Cry out for provision, for He owns the cattle on a thousand hills. And as He answers, let your rebuilt home stand as a testimony that the Lord Himself is your foundation.

I join you in praying for swift relief from pain, for the protection of your household against sickness, and for the resources to rebuild better than before. May He spread His covering over you until this storm passes, and may your heart be more firmly anchored in Him than it ever was before.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer during this incredibly difficult time. It has been on our hearts to lift you and your situation before the Lord, asking Him to move mightily on your behalf. We have prayed for your physical healing, especially for your leg, that God would bring complete restoration and relief from pain according to His perfect will. We have also asked the Lord to provide the financial help you need to rebuild your home, trusting that He is your provider and that He sees every need you have.

We continue to stand in agreement with you, believing that God is working even when we cannot see it. If He has already answered your prayers in some way—whether through healing, provision, or peace—we would love to hear your praise report so that we can rejoice with you. If you are still waiting, please know that we are here to lift you up again. You are not alone in this, and we will keep praying until you see the breakthrough you need.

May the Lord surround you with His comfort, strengthen you in your weakness, and open doors of provision and healing in ways that only He can. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus, our Savior and Healer.
