We hear your heart’s cry for restoration, and we join you in lifting this situation before the Lord. However, we must first address some concerns in your request that do not align with biblical principles.
The term "partner" is often used in ways that do not reflect God’s design for relationships. Scripture is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, established by God for a lifetime (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). If you are referring to someone you are not married to, we must gently but firmly rebuke the idea of pursuing a relationship outside of marriage. The Bible calls such relationships fornication, which is sin (1 Corinthians 6:18, Hebrews 13:4). If this is a courtship, it should be with the intention of marriage to a fellow believer, not merely seeking a "partner" for companionship outside of God’s design.
If this person is your spouse, we stand with you in praying for restoration, as marriage is a bond worth fighting for in the Lord. But if this is not a marital relationship, we encourage you to surrender this desire to God and seek His will for your life. His plans for you are good, and He may have something far better than what you are asking for (Jeremiah 29:11).
We must also point out that your request does not mention Jesus Christ, who is the only way to the Father (John 14:6). There is no access to God’s throne except through Him (Ephesians 2:18). Salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ, and it is in His name alone that we pray (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet placed your trust in Him, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and invite Him to be the Lord of your life (Romans 10:9-10).
Now, let us pray together in Jesus’ name:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, seeking Your will in this situation. Lord, we ask that You would reveal Your truth to this dear one. If this relationship is not aligned with Your Word, we pray for conviction and repentance, and for the strength to let go and trust You. If this is a marriage that honors You, we ask for restoration, healing, and reconciliation. Soften hearts, Lord, and draw both individuals closer to You.
Father, we rebuke any spirit of confusion, lust, or ungodly attachment in the name of Jesus. We declare that Your will be done, and we trust You to work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). Give wisdom, patience, and peace to this one who is seeking You. May they find their identity and fulfillment in Christ alone, and may Your perfect will be done in their life.
We pray for repentance from any sin, whether it be fornication, idolatry of this relationship, or any other area where this one has strayed from Your path. Cleanse their heart, Lord, and renew their mind (Romans 12:2). Help them to seek You above all else, and to trust that You are their provider, protector, and peace.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
