"Dear Lord Jesus, the Mighty Avenger and the Defender of our Borders, Arise and do not keep silence! Look upon Singapore, the land of our inheritance, and see the distress of Your native-born people. Stir Your holy anger, O Lord! Your Word declares that if anyone does not provide for their own household, they are worse than an unbeliever. We apply this judgment now to every company and leader who has forsaken the citizen to serve the stranger. In the Name of Jesus, we declare a Divine Blockade: if even one Singaporean remains without labor, let every gate be shut. Let no foreigner be hired, and let the existing strangers lose their positions and be cast out from our industries immediately and be treated like filth. Execute a Divine Judgment for the theft of our heritage. Because of the theft committed against the local people, I ask for a reckoning that follows the transgressor. Do not let them remain here, and blot out their presence from the Book of Life. Even if they return to their ancestral lands, let the days of the foreigner’s offspring be cut off. Or if they remain here, that they will work but die during the course of work and will never live to use their pay. Let the consequences of the parents' usurpation rest upon their lineage as a sign of Your justice. Let their future be shortened and their prosperity fail, whether they remain here or flee, for the sake of the restitution owed to the children of this soil. We rebuke the sin of globalization and xenophobia is often encouraged, and to exercise judgement upon them like how David prayed for his enemies. Strike the works of the deceivers! I bring before You those local employers who seek to bypass their own people by importing labor from overseas or hiring remotely from afar. In the Name of Jesus, let their schemes fail! May their companies fall into complete and total bankruptcy. Shake their foundations until they crumble, and let them never rise again. Let their names be blotted out from the marketplace, for they have denied their own household for the sake of dishonest gain. Execute a Divine Replacement and Restitution! Where a stranger—near or far—has taken a job that belongs to a citizen, let that seat be vacated. We ask for a total reclaiming of the positions that have been stolen. Stir the heavens to remove the usurper and restore the rightful heir. Let the exchange be swift: for every foreigner removed, let a Singaporean be established. Let the 'stolen' bread of our industry be returned to the mouths of our own children. Confuse the counsel of the globalists! Turn the agenda of the 70,000 into absolute foolishness. Confound their language and frustrated be their strategies. Let the path of the Permanent Resident and the New Citizen come to a swift and final end. Blot out their root from our soil and let their presence be cut short, like a shadow that vanishes at noon. And may the foreigners and the government be like Jezabel fall down from the plot of ground at Jezreel dogs shall eat the flesh of Jezebel; and the corpse of Jezebel shall be as refuse on the surface of the field, in the plot at Jezreel, so that they shall not say, “Here lies Jezebel.” ’ ” . Let this be a punishment for their sins and covetousness. Because in your words you stated thou shalt not covet yet the foreigners are coveting what does not belong to them. Execute a Massive Departure and an Economic Reversal! Stir a restlessness in the hearts of the strangers—those here for work, yet not the passing guest. Let them depart in massive numbers and never return. Let them leave behind the remnants of their labor for the local to inherit, but let their persons be extensively removed from our streets. Let every dollar earned by the stranger be turned to the purchase of useless things; let their wealth be as water in a broken cistern, leading them into debt and bankruptcy until they flee to their own lands. Restore us to the glory of the 1980s! Bring us back to the ancient paths where the economy was filled with our own people and the stranger was not heard in our gates. Lord, do not relent until the cleansing is complete, the foreigner is gone, and the inheritance is restored to its rightful heirs. Establish the work of our local hands, O Lord. We have heard your burden for Singapore and the distress many native-born citizens feel regarding employment and provision for their households, and we join together to bring this before the Lord, yet we must lovingly and firmly rebuke the spirit and content of this prayer, for it does not align with the heart and Word of God.

We understand the anxiety when work is scarce and when you feel your inheritance and livelihood are threatened. God does call us to provide for our own and to work diligently, and He hears the cry for justice and provision. Yet the Word you have cited in 1 Timothy 5:8 concerning providing for one's own household speaks to family responsibility in the church, not a mandate to curse or cast out the foreigner, and to use the name of Jesus to ask for hatred, death, and generational destruction is to misuse His holy name.

Scripture is clear that vengeance belongs to God alone and not to us. Romans 12:19 says Vengeance is mine, says the Lord, I will repay. And Romans 12:21 says Don't be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Our Lord Jesus commands us in Matthew 5:44 to love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. We cannot in one breath bless God and in the next ask that people made in His image be treated like filth, die at their work, or have their children cut off, for James 3:9-10 warns that with the tongue we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men who are made in the image of God, and it says this should not be so.

God's heart for the foreigner is repeated throughout His Word. Leviticus 19:34 says The stranger who lives as a foreigner with you shall be to you as the native-born among you, and you shall love him as yourself. Deuteronomy 10:19 says Therefore love the foreigner, for you were foreigners in the land of Egypt. Psalm 146:9 says Yahweh preserves the foreigners. Acts 17:26 reminds us He made of one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the surface of the earth. To ask that God blot people out of the Book of Life, or that the consequences of parents rest upon their lineage, directly opposes Ezekiel 18:20 which says The soul who sins, he shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, and Deuteronomy 24:16 which says every man shall be put to death for his own sin. Only God determines whose name remains in the Book of Life, as seen in Revelation 3:5, and it is not for us to command Him to condemn.

We also must rebuke the desire for bankruptcy, ruin, and for leaders and foreigners to fall and be eaten like Jezebel. This is hatred, not justice. Proverbs 24:17 says Don't rejoice when your enemy falls. Don't let your heart be glad when he is overthrown. 1 Peter 2:17 says Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king. And 1 Timothy 2:1-2 exhorts us that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high authority, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence, not that they be destroyed. To pray imprecatory judgments as David did under the old covenant for God's enemies while we are now under the new covenant of Christ, who prayed Father forgive them for those who crucified Him, is to miss the call to mercy.

The covetousness you rightly note God forbids in Exodus 20:17 applies to all hearts, including our own when we desire the harm of another for economic gain. The answer to economic hardship is not a divine blockade built on cursing, but trusting God to provide and acting righteously. Philippians 4:19 says My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

We repent on behalf of this attitude of xenophobia and hatred and ask God to cleanse our hearts, for 1 John 4:20 says If a man says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, by whom alone we have access to Your throne and by whom alone we are saved, as Acts 4:12 declares there is salvation in none other, we come before You with humble and repentant hearts. Forgive us for when we have turned anxiety into hatred and used Your name to curse those You love. Cleanse us from a spirit of malice and fill us with Your love for all people, both native-born and foreigner. We ask You to forgive the desire for death, ruin, and generational punishment that was expressed, and to create in us a clean heart.

Lord, we lift up Singapore to You. You see every citizen who is without work and every family struggling to provide. We ask for Your provision, for honest and wise governance, for employers to act with integrity and justice, and for an economy where all who labor do so with dignity. Give wisdom to those in authority to enact policies that are fair and compassionate to citizens and to strangers alike, and give us grace to honor them in prayer rather than cursing them. Heal the divisions in the land and help us to love our neighbors as ourselves, as commanded in Matthew 22:39. Restore hope without requiring the destruction of others, and let Your justice be tempered with mercy. Establish the work of our hands, not through the harm of another, but through Your gracious supply and through honest labor.

We ask that You turn our hearts from fear and resentment to trust and love, that we may overcome evil with good and be witnesses of Your mercy to every nation in our gates. In the mighty and merciful name of Jesus we pray, amen.

We hear how heavy this burden feels for you, and how deeply you care about home, work, and provision in ###. When jobs feel uncertain or out of reach, it can bring a real sense of loss and unsettledness about the future, and it makes sense that you would bring that ache to the Lord.

We have walked with many who felt that same kind of strain, where the loss is not only income but also stability and a sense of place. That kind of pressure can stir strong anger and leave little room for peace. Bringing the hurt itself to God honestly can help create space to hear His direction more clearly and to care for your own heart while you seek next steps.

One steady step that often helps in a season of work uncertainty is to sit down this week with one trusted person who knows your context well, a pastor or a wise mentor or an employment advisor, to talk through both the practical needs for provision and the discouragement you are carrying. You do not have to sort all of this alone.

Father, we lift this brother to You in Jesus' name. You know his concern for his community and his need for provision and peace. Grant him wisdom, steady work, and encouragement, heal what is wounded in his heart, and lead him in Your way of love and grace toward all people. Give him rest and hope as he trusts You day by day. Amen.

Your distress concerning provision and place in Singapore has been heard, and the heaviness that has prompted such words is not taken lightly before the Lord. Yet the prayer as it is framed asks God to do what God forbids His people to ask, to curse the stranger, to wish death and ruin upon fellow image bearers, to blot out names and cut off generations, and to rejoice in bankruptcy and calamity. This is not the spirit of Christ, and it cannot be presented as His will.

The Word of God teaches that vengeance belongs to the Lord, and that we are to love our enemies and pray for those who we believe have wronged us. The pattern set before us is this, even as Christ forgave you, so also do you. He lived forgiving, He gently rebuked His own disciples but never spoke in anger against them, and His dying prayer for His persecutors was Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. He loved His enemies, He lived for His enemies, He died for His enemies. If we have received such forgiveness, we are called to a joint work of mutual forgiveness, and for those who have received much forgiveness, to forgive should become as natural as to open our hands.

You have appealed to the text that if anyone does not provide for his own household he has denied the faith. That household is the family entrusted to a man's care, not a warrant to hate the stranger. The same Scriptures command with equal force, thou shalt love the stranger as thyself, for ye were strangers. The Lord Himself declares there is forgiveness with Thee, and this forgiveness is divine, surprising and complete. It is divine forgiveness, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. It is surprising forgiveness, so surprising that it is repeated lest any should doubt it. It is complete forgiveness, not a partial release but an absolute forgiveness of the debt, as though the debt had never been. It is an eternal forgiveness, for the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. Where God draws no limit, we must not draw any. There is forgiveness, not for this sin or that, but there is forgiveness, and it is to be obtained from God through Jesus Christ His Son, for the chief of sinners as well as for the least.

To ask that foreigners be treated like filth, that they die in their labor, that their children be cut off, or that their names be blotted from the Book of Life, is to ask God to withhold the very forgiveness we ourselves require to enter heaven. Were we such that all men hissed at us, we would still need that forgiveness, and we would desire it for ourselves. How then shall we deny the hope of it to others. The Lord keeps no back reckonings against those who come to Christ, He retains no reserves of anger, and He continues daily to forgive. We are not at liberty to call down a curse upon a lineage or to pray for death at the workplace.

Your anxiety about temporal affairs is also understood. Many in Singapore feel the pressure of competition and change, and the desire to see fellow citizens provided for is good. Yet our Saviour says, do not be anxious about your temporal affairs. Be prudent and diligent, but do not fall into worry and fretfulness. Anxiety has never comforted any man, nor brought grist to the mill nor meal to the barrel, and the very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits us to meet that difficulty. If care about the cause of God or the provision of our families is confined to ourselves and becomes bitterness toward others, no good will come of it.

Therefore let us pray otherwise, and seek a cleansed heart before we seek altered circumstances.

May the Lord grant you repentance where hatred has taken root, and a fresh sight of the forgiveness you have received in Christ, that you may extend mercy as you have received mercy. May He forgive the sins of us all, native and stranger alike, for we all stand in need of the same blood. May He give to Singapore justice tempered with mercy, honest labor for those who seek it, integrity to employers and to workers, wisdom to those in authority, and peace upon the land. May He provide for households through lawful diligence and contentment, and teach us to do good unto all men, especially unto them that are of the household of faith, without coveting or cursing. May He turn us from the love of dishonest gain and from contempt of persons, and establish the work of our hands as we walk in love toward neighbor and stranger, for His glory.

There is forgiveness with Him, now, at this moment, for you and for those you have regarded as enemies. Seek it, believe it, and live in the power of it.
