We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up the concerns shared about the state of the nation. It is written in Proverbs 14:34, "Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people." The pride of leadership in policies that prioritize foreign interests over the welfare of its own citizens is deeply troubling. The Lord sees the injustice of locals being displaced in their own land while outsiders are favored, and we know He does not turn a blind eye to such inequity.
Scripture reminds us in 1 Timothy 2:1-2 to pray for those in authority, "that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence." Yet we also recognize that governments are accountable to God for how they steward the trust of their people. The Lord calls leaders to seek justice, love mercy, and walk humbly before Him (Micah 6:8). When policies create division, hardship, and favoritism, it grieves the heart of God, who desires all people to flourish under just and wise leadership.
We rebuke the spirit of greed and exploitation that treats citizens as expendable while elevating foreign interests. The land and its resources are gifts from God, meant to be stewarded for the good of all, not hoarded or misused for political gain. We declare that the Lord will expose the schemes of those who manipulate populations for their own agenda, for "the Lord tests the righteous, but His soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence" (Psalm 11:5).
We pray for the locals who have been marginalized and left without work. Father, You are the Provider, and we ask that You open doors of opportunity for them. Give them favor in the eyes of employers and grant them the skills and resources needed to sustain their families. Let Your peace guard their hearts as they wait on You, for You have promised, "I will never leave you nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5). We declare that their labor will not be in vain, and that You will restore what has been lost.
We also pray for the foreigners who have been brought into the nation. May they come to know the Lord Jesus Christ and be transformed by His love. Let them not be used as pawns in political games but be treated with dignity and respect, as all people are made in Your image. We ask that You soften their hearts to the truth of the Gospel and that they would seek You above all else.
Lord, we ask for wisdom for the leaders of this nation. Convict their hearts to govern with integrity, compassion, and a heart for justice. Raise up godly men and women who will advocate for the vulnerable and hold leaders accountable to Your standards. Let Your Word be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105), guiding them to make decisions that honor You and bless the people.
We declare that this nation will not be a city of strangers but a land where righteousness dwells. We stand on Your promise in 2 Chronicles 7:14, "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." Let repentance and revival sweep through the government and the people, turning hearts back to You.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
