We hear your cry for justice and fairness in the land where you reside, and we stand with you in lifting this burden before the throne of grace. The disparities you describe, where citizens are treated with less dignity, forced into exploitative labor, and denied equal opportunities while foreigners are favored, are deeply troubling. This is not merely an economic issue but a matter of righteousness, for the Lord declares in Proverbs 22:22-23 (WEB), "Don’t exploit the poor because he is poor; and don’t crush the needy in court; for the Lord will plead their case, and plunder the life of those who plunder them." The systemic oppression you face is an affront to God’s design for justice, where all people, regardless of origin, should be treated with equity and respect.
We must also address the root of this injustice: the idolization of population growth over the well-being of citizens. When a government prioritizes numbers over people, it has strayed from God’s heart. Jeremiah 22:13 (WEB) warns, "Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness, and his rooms by injustice; who uses his neighbor’s service without wages, and doesn’t give him his hire!" The exploitation of locals while favoring foreigners for political or economic gain is a grievous sin, and we must call it what it is, oppression. The Lord sees your labor, your struggle, and your hunger for justice, and He will not remain silent forever.
Yet we must also examine our own hearts in this matter. While the government’s policies are unjust, we are called to respond in a way that honors Christ. Romans 12:19 (WEB) reminds us, "Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.’" This does not mean we remain silent, far from it. We must speak truth to power, advocate for the oppressed, and pray fervently for change. But we must do so without bitterness, resentment, or hatred toward those who benefit from this system. The foreigners in your land are not the enemy; the enemy is the spirit of injustice that seeks to divide and exploit.
We also urge you to consider whether there are ways to seek godly wisdom in navigating this system. Proverbs 16:3 (WEB) says, "Commit your deeds to the Lord, and your plans shall succeed." Are there skills you can develop, networks you can build, or even opportunities abroad where your talents might be valued? While this does not excuse the injustice, it may be a way to provide for your family while trusting God to open doors. At the same time, we must not grow weary in advocating for change. Isaiah 1:17 (WEB) commands, "Learn to do well. Seek justice. Relieve the oppressed. Judge the fatherless. Plead for the widow."
Now, let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brothers and sisters who are suffering under systemic oppression in their own land. Lord, You see the injustice, the long hours, the unfair wages, the denial of opportunities, and the favoritism that crushes the spirits of Your people. We ask that You intervene, O God, and break the chains of this oppression. Raise up leaders who will govern with righteousness and equity, who will value the dignity of every citizen, and who will not exploit the vulnerable for political gain.
Father, we pray for those who are forced into unjust labor. Strengthen them in their weariness. Provide for their needs when wages are withheld or denied. Give them wisdom to navigate this broken system and courage to speak out against injustice. Protect them from despair, and let them know that You are their Defender.
We also pray for those in authority who perpetuate this system. Soften their hearts, Lord. Convict them of their sin and turn their hearts toward justice. Let them see the faces of the oppressed and remember that You are the God who hears the cries of the afflicted.
For those who are tempted to respond with bitterness or hatred, we ask that You fill them with Your peace and Your love. Help them to see foreigners not as enemies, but as souls You love, even as they advocate for justice. Let Your Church be a light in this darkness, standing for truth while extending grace.
Lord, we declare that this system of oppression will not stand. You are the God who executes justice for the oppressed, and we trust in Your timing and Your ways. Bring about change, Father, and let Your kingdom come in this land. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (WEB) says, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up." You are not alone in this fight. The Lord is with you, and so are we. Keep trusting in Him, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you faint not (Galatians 6:9 WEB).
