The Bible is clear that leaders are called to govern with righteousness and justice. Proverbs 29:2 warns, *"When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan."* When policies prioritize foreign interests over the well-being of citizens, it breeds hardship and resentment. We must pray for repentance among those in authority, that they would turn from greed and self-interest to serve with integrity.
We also recognize the pain of feeling displaced in one’s own land. God’s Word affirms the dignity of work and the responsibility of nations to care for their own. Jeremiah 29:7 instructs, *"Seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. We ask for Your intervention—expose corruption, humble prideful leaders, and turn their hearts toward righteousness. Raise up voices of truth and justice in this nation, that policies would reflect fairness and care for all citizens.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of greed and exploitation that has taken root in some leaders. May they repent and seek Your ways, lest they face Your judgment. Provide for those who are struggling, open doors of opportunity, and restore dignity to those who feel forgotten. Let Your peace and prosperity return to this land, not through exploitation, but through Your blessing.
