We hear the pain and betrayal in your heart, and we stand with you in seeking God’s truth and justice in this situation. Deception, especially from someone who claims to be a leader in the faith, is deeply wounding. Scripture warns us, "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves" (Matthew 7:15 WEB). It is right to guard your heart and remove yourself from such hypocrisy, as you have done by blocking her.
This woman’s actions do not reflect the love, integrity, or accountability that should mark a true servant of Christ. Her failure to follow through on her word and her treatment of you reveal a heart that is not aligned with God’s character. We rebuke this spirit of deception and hypocrisy in Jesus’ name. "The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy" (Proverbs 12:22 WEB). May God expose any hidden motives in her life and bring her to repentance if she is truly His.
We also want to gently remind you that your worth and dignity are not defined by how others treat you, but by how God sees you. You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14 WEB), and Jesus calls you His beloved. Do not let the actions of one person cause you to stumble in your faith or question God’s goodness. Instead, let this experience draw you closer to the One who is always faithful. "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18 WEB).
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who has been deeply hurt by deception. Lord, You see the pain and the injustice they have endured, and we ask that You would heal their heart completely. Remove any bitterness, anger, or distrust that may have taken root, and replace it with Your peace and truth. Remind them of Your unfailing love and faithfulness, which never wavers, even when people do.
Father, we pray for this woman who has acted hypocritically. If she is truly Yours, we ask that You would convict her heart and lead her to genuine repentance. Expose any ungodly motives or patterns in her life, and restore her to a place of humility and integrity. If she is not Yours, we ask that You would remove her influence from Your people and bring her deception to light.
Lord, we also pray for wisdom and discernment for our brother/sister. Help them to recognize falsehood in the future and to place their trust only in You. Surround them with godly, trustworthy believers who will speak truth and love into their life. Strengthen their faith and remind them that You are their ultimate refuge and defender.
We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. It is only through Him that we have access to You, and it is only by His name that we are saved. May our brother/sister find their hope and identity in Christ alone. Amen.
In the days ahead, we encourage you to immerse yourself in God’s Word and surround yourself with a community of believers who will uphold you in truth and love. Do not let this experience harden your heart toward others, but let it refine your discernment and deepen your dependence on God. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB). You are not alone, and God will use even this pain for your good and His glory.
