Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We hear the pain and betrayal in your heart, and we stand with you in seeking God’s truth and justice in this situation. Deception, especially from someone who claims to be a leader in the faith, is deeply wounding. Scripture warns us, "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves" (Matthew 7:15 WEB). It is right to guard your heart and remove yourself from such hypocrisy, as you have done by blocking her.

This woman’s actions do not reflect the love, integrity, or accountability that should mark a true servant of Christ. Her failure to follow through on her word and her treatment of you reveal a heart that is not aligned with God’s character. We rebuke this spirit of deception and hypocrisy in Jesus’ name. "The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy" (Proverbs 12:22 WEB). May God expose any hidden motives in her life and bring her to repentance if she is truly His.

We also want to gently remind you that your worth and dignity are not defined by how others treat you, but by how God sees you. You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14 WEB), and Jesus calls you His beloved. Do not let the actions of one person cause you to stumble in your faith or question God’s goodness. Instead, let this experience draw you closer to the One who is always faithful. "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18 WEB).

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who has been deeply hurt by deception. Lord, You see the pain and the injustice they have endured, and we ask that You would heal their heart completely. Remove any bitterness, anger, or distrust that may have taken root, and replace it with Your peace and truth. Remind them of Your unfailing love and faithfulness, which never wavers, even when people do.

Father, we pray for this woman who has acted hypocritically. If she is truly Yours, we ask that You would convict her heart and lead her to genuine repentance. Expose any ungodly motives or patterns in her life, and restore her to a place of humility and integrity. If she is not Yours, we ask that You would remove her influence from Your people and bring her deception to light.

Lord, we also pray for wisdom and discernment for our brother/sister. Help them to recognize falsehood in the future and to place their trust only in You. Surround them with godly, trustworthy believers who will speak truth and love into their life. Strengthen their faith and remind them that You are their ultimate refuge and defender.

We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. It is only through Him that we have access to You, and it is only by His name that we are saved. May our brother/sister find their hope and identity in Christ alone. Amen.

In the days ahead, we encourage you to immerse yourself in God’s Word and surround yourself with a community of believers who will uphold you in truth and love. Do not let this experience harden your heart toward others, but let it refine your discernment and deepen your dependence on God. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB). You are not alone, and God will use even this pain for your good and His glory.

We're so sorry you experienced this. It stings when someone who claims to represent Christ turns around and makes you feel foolish or invisible, especially when you opened yourself up, expecting care in return. That kind of public dismissal cuts deep, and the confusion of being muted while she prayed for others only added insult to injury. What you’re feeling isn’t petty; it’s a real hurt, and we don’t want to rush you past it.

Blocking her live was a sensible boundary. You don’t need to keep exposing yourself to someone whose behavior left you feeling deceived. At the same time, we’d gently point out that holding onto the offense can start working against your peace more than it affects her. Bitterness has a way of keeping us tethered to the very person who hurt us, replaying the moment and letting it harden our hearts long after they’ve moved on. That doesn't mean what she did was acceptable, it simply means your own freedom matters too much to hand it over to this memory.

Forgiveness here might begin as a quiet decision: not chasing an apology you may never receive, but choosing not to let her hypocrisy define your outlook on God or his people. You don’t have to trust her again, and you don’t have to pretend it didn’t happen. But you can loosen the grip that moment has on you, little by little, so it loses its power to keep you angry.

Jesus, our steady hope, be near this one who was hurt in your name. Soothe the sting of being mocked and overlooked. Protect this heart from the slow poison of resentment. Give the courage to release what cannot be undone, and restore a quiet confidence that you see us truly, and you never deceive. In your faithful name, Amen.

You that are Church-officers, do not conclude that because you enjoy the confidence of the Church, that therefore of an absolute certainty the grace of God is in you. None of the disciples suspected him of hypocrisy; they said at the table, “Lord, is it I?” They never said, “Lord, is it Judas?” “Yes,” replies the minister; “what an acquisition to our councils; if we could elect him to office he would be of eminent service to the Church.”

But oh, the leaven, the leaven! If ever there was a time when it was needful to say, “Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy,” it is now. I am certain I have used the utmost diligence to weed out of my church those whom I have suspected of hypocrisy, and greater diligence shall yet be used. But, oh, do deal with yourselves, I beseech you. What shall we do to cure ourselves of any hypocrisy that may exist among us? Let us recollect that we cannot do anything in secret even if we try. The all-seeing God, apprehended in the conscience, must be the death of hypocrisy. I cannot try to deceive when I know that God is looking at me.

Yet let this whisper drive away despair! What a blessed whisper it is! “There is forgiveness.” “There is forgiveness.” Let it enter your soul and drive those grim ogres and hobgoblins of despair away. Where God draws no limit, do not you draw any. O man, let me catch you in my arms and tell you that “there is forgiveness!” One more step and you may be where there is no forgiveness, but where the black and terrible pall of despair shall hang over your soul forever. There was forgiveness; there is forgiveness; there will be forgiveness as long as life lasts. If you have been the chief of sinners, you may have the chief of sinner’s forgiveness, and God can bestow it now. Only from God, through Jesus Christ, His Son, there is forgiveness with Him, and with nobody else. I charge you to spurn any so-called absolution from a mere priest, but come directly to the throne.

And what then? This forgiveness which God has given us for Christ’s sake is an eternal forgiveness. Admire as much the way in which Christ forgives as the forgiveness which He bestows. It breaks my heart to think what a loving Christ He was to me when I sought His forgiveness. And He not only forgave us at the first all our sins, but he continues daily to forgive. Some of us have had so much manifest forgiveness, so much outward sin forgiven, that for us to forgive ought to be as natural as to open our hands. Revenge is paltry, forgiveness is great-minded. They will be ashamed to look at you; they will never hurt you again if they see that you cannot be provoked except it be to greater love and larger kindness. Let the matter drop as a stone into the depths, for if you have been forgiven, even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

What you witnessed is indeed the work of a hypocrite, a whited sepulcher full of uncleanness and dissimulation. Yet these things are written for our admonition. When we see how one who claimed to belong to the Lord could so deceive, we are put on guard lest we too suffer the like. For even among the twelve there was a traitor, and his betrayal came not from a distant enemy but from one who dipped his hand in the same dish. The depravity of a soul that uses holy things as a cloak for empty promises should make us tremble for ourselves.

But take care that your own heart does not fall into the snare of the Pharisee, who, recounting the sins of others, made shipwreck in the very harbor through self-exaltation. If we have done all, we are unprofitable servants; to boast over the failings of another is not the mark of a true heart. Draw near rather with sincerity, without hypocrisy, without faintheartedness. A fainthearted spirit comes from unbelief, but a true heart trusts that the Lord sees all. His gentleness was sufficient to shame the betrayer even in the act; pray that this same long-suffering may yet bring her to amendment.

Separate yourself from the unclean thing, you have done well to block what leads to stumbling, but do not let bitterness fester. Come out from among them, and touch not the pollution of deceit, but let your own heart be guileless, saying one thing and thinking another in nothing. Pray for her, not with a spirit of vengeance, but that she may be delivered from the madness of vainglory, for the cause of all such evils is hypocrisy. And then with a true heart, leave the matter to Him who judges justly.

It is deeply wounding when someone who presents herself as a servant of God turns out to be untrustworthy. She made you a promise, then not only broke it but silenced you and left you feeling foolish while she went on ministering to others. What you describe is more than a personal slight; it exposes a heart that is not walking in integrity. You were right to see it as hypocrisy and to block her broadcasts. That kind of betrayal cuts especially deep because it comes wrapped in the name of the Lord.

The Scriptures have always warned us to be on guard against false prophets and teachers. They do not arrive with a label announcing their error. Instead they come in sheep’s clothing, sounding right most of the time. A false teacher can say many true things; that is what makes the deception so effective. But sooner or later the mask slips, and you see the fruit. Broken promises, manipulative silencing, a pattern of building up an image while discarding individuals: these are not the marks of a faithful shepherd. True ministry will always point clearly to Jesus Christ and will be matched by a life of humility and truthfulness, not by feigned words and convenient lies.

It is easy to feel shame in a moment like yours, as if you should have known better. But the fault lies with the one who misrepresented the truth, not with you for trusting a public profession. What you experienced is a small picture of what false hope does on a larger scale: it makes glib promises, demands attention, and then abandons the person who believed. The early church was taught to test every spirit and to beware of anyone who made merchandise of the flock, whether through flattery or through small deceptions aimed at building a following. You saw the inconsistency, and you took the healthy step of cutting off that source of hurt.

Let me join you in prayer over this. I am not praying that her misleading ways would be blessed or spread, but that the Lord would bring truth to light. If she is a genuine but confused person, may God grant her repentance and a broken heart over the damage she has done. If she is a willful deceiver, may her efforts be brought to nothing and those she has harmed be healed. Either way, may you be released from any lingering sting of that encounter. The Lord sees what happened, and He is the one who vindicates. May He guard your heart, fill your mind with what is pure and trustworthy, and keep your feet on solid ground.
