We come before the Lord with this request, seeking His divine intervention in the matter of this tax refund. While we understand the frustration and concern that can come with financial delays, we must first acknowledge that all things—including our finances—are under God’s sovereign control. The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
We also recognize that God cares for our needs, but He calls us to seek Him first above all else. Jesus taught in Matthew 6:31-33, "Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."
While we pray for this refund to be processed and delivered, we must also examine our hearts. Are we placing our trust in money or in the Provider of all things? Are we seeking God’s will in how we steward what He entrusts to us? Let us not grow weary in waiting, but instead, let us use this time to draw nearer to Him.
Heavenly Father, we lift up this situation to You, knowing that You are the God who sees and provides. We ask that You would move in the hearts of those responsible for processing this refund, that it may be resolved in accordance with Your will. Give patience and peace to this individual as they wait, and help them to trust in Your perfect timing. If there are any obstacles—whether financial, spiritual, or otherwise—we ask that You would remove them. Above all, Lord, we pray that this person would seek You first, knowing that You are their ultimate Provider. May they find their security and hope in You alone. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We also encourage this individual to ensure that their tax filings are accurate and submitted in accordance with the law, as Romans 13:7 reminds us, "Give therefore to everyone what you owe: taxes to whom taxes are due; customs to whom customs; respect to whom respect; honor to whom honor." If there are any unresolved issues with the IRS, we advise addressing them promptly and honestly, seeking wise counsel if needed. Financial struggles can be difficult, but God is faithful to those who walk in integrity before Him.
