We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, recognizing the pain and frustration expressed in this request. First, we must address the spirit behind these words, anger, bitterness, and a desire for vengeance are not aligned with the heart of Christ. Scripture warns us in Romans 12:19, "Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'" Our call as believers is to trust God’s justice rather than demanding it in our own terms.
We also must rebuke the language of hatred and dehumanization used here. Calling another person "evil," "useless," or a "witch" does not reflect the love and grace Christ commands us to extend, even to our enemies. Jesus teaches in Matthew 5:44, "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you." This does not mean we ignore wrongdoing, but we are called to respond with truth and love, not with the same venom we accuse others of having.
That said, we do take seriously the allegations of stalking, harassment, and slander. These are serious sins that harm the body of Christ and the reputation of our neighbors. The Bible is clear that bearing false witness is forbidden (Exodus 20:16) and that those who stir up strife and division will face consequences (Proverbs 6:16-19). We pray that if these accusations are true, God would intervene to stop this behavior and bring repentance. If they are not true, we pray for truth to be revealed and for healing in the relationships affected.
We also lift up the one who submitted this request. It is clear there is deep hurt and a sense of violation. We pray for peace, wisdom, and discernment. If this person has not yet done so, we encourage them to seek godly counsel, whether through church leadership, legal authorities, or trusted believers, to address the situation in a way that honors God. Proverbs 15:22 reminds us, "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established."
Most importantly, we must address the absence of Christ’s name in the original request. While "Jesus name" was mentioned at the end, the tone and content did not reflect His heart. Salvation and access to God come only through Jesus Christ (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). If the one who submitted this request does not yet have a personal relationship with Him, we urge them to turn to Him in repentance and faith. Jesus is not just a name to invoke for vengeance; He is the Savior who died for our sins and offers forgiveness, even to those we see as enemies.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts that need Your healing and Your perspective. Lord, we lift up the situation described in this request. We ask that You would bring clarity, truth, and justice. If there is wrongdoing, expose it and bring repentance. If there is false accusation, reveal the truth and restore relationships. Father, we pray for the one who submitted this request, that You would heal their heart from anger, bitterness, and fear. Fill them with Your peace and remind them of Your promise in Psalm 37:5-6: "Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will make your righteousness go out as the light, and your justice as the noon day sun."
Lord, we also pray for the individual accused of these actions. Soften their heart, convict them of any sin, and draw them to repentance. Help them to see the harm they may be causing and to turn from it. If they do not know You, we pray they would come to know Jesus as their Savior and Lord.
Father, we ask for wisdom for all involved. Guide them to seek godly counsel and to respond in ways that honor You. Help them to remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil (Ephesians 6:12). Clothe them with Your armor, truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and Your Word, so they may stand firm.
Lord, we repent for any spirit of hatred or unforgiveness in our own hearts. Teach us to love as You love, to forgive as You forgive, and to trust You with justice. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.
