We hear your heart, dear brother, and we come together in agreement before the throne of grace, lifting up each of these burdens to the Lord who sees, knows, and cares for every detail of your life. First, we want to acknowledge that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is by His blood alone that we are made righteous to stand before Him. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to confess Him as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9 WEB). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).

Now, let us bring these requests before the Lord with faith and expectancy, trusting that He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).

Heavenly Father, we come before You, the God who neither slumbers nor sleeps (Psalm 121:4), and we ask that You grant our brother the gift of restful sleep. Lord, You know the weariness of his body and the anxieties that may keep him awake. We rebuke the spirit of insomnia and restlessness in Jesus’ name, and we declare that his mind and body will be at peace as he lies down. "When you lie down, you will not be afraid. Yes, you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet" (Proverbs 3:24 WEB). Father, refresh him with deep, restoring sleep so that he may rise with strength and clarity to face each day.

We lift up his work before You, Lord. You are the God who provides, and we ask that You open doors of opportunity for him. Whether it is the job he currently has or a new position, we pray that You would grant him favor with his employers, wisdom in his tasks, and diligence in his labor. "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men" (Colossians 3:23 WEB). Father, we ask that You bless the work of his hands and provide a job with a salary that will meet his needs and allow him to be a blessing to others. We declare that his labor will not be in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58).

Lord, we also bring his financial concerns before You. You know every bill that needs to be paid, every need that must be met, and every desire of his heart. We ask that You provide for him abundantly, not just enough to scrape by, but enough to thrive and to be generous. "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19 WEB). We rebuke the spirit of lack and poverty in Jesus’ name, and we declare that he will not be anxious about his finances, but will trust in You for provision. Father, we ask that You give him wisdom in managing his resources and that You open doors for additional income if needed.

We pray for his dental health, Lord. You are the Great Physician, and we ask that You guide him to the right professionals who can help him get his teeth sorted out. We declare healing over his mouth and gums, and we ask that You provide the finances needed for any treatments. "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds" (Psalm 147:3 WEB). Father, we trust that You will restore his health in this area and give him peace as he seeks the care he needs.

Our brother has also asked for prayer for a godly wife, and we rejoice in this desire, for it is good and pleasing in Your sight. Father, we ask that You prepare his heart for marriage, that he would be a man after Your own heart, walking in purity, integrity, and love. "He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh" (Proverbs 18:22 WEB). We pray that You would bring a woman into his life who loves You above all else, who is committed to walking in holiness, and who will be a helpmate and encouragement to him. Lord, we ask that You guard his heart and mind from any relationships that do not honor You, and that he would not be tempted into fornication or impurity. "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB). Father, we declare that he will wait on You and trust in Your timing, knowing that Your plans for him are good.

We also lift up the loved ones he has mentioned, praying for Your protection, provision, and blessing over their lives. May they come to know You more deeply and walk in the fullness of Your purpose for them.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You provide the finances needed for Bible resources and facsimiles. Your Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105), and we pray that our brother would have every tool he needs to study and grow in his faith. We declare that he will be a good steward of the resources You provide, using them to edify the body of Christ and to draw closer to You.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your faithfulness and declare that Your will be done in each of these areas. Strengthen our brother with Your might, fill him with Your peace, and let him know that he is never alone, for You are with him always. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

It’s no wonder sleep feels hard to hold onto. When so many things feel unsettled, rest can be the first thing to slip away, and the lack of sleep then makes everything else feel heavier.

Because you named sleep and work right at the start, we want to especially lift those up with you. There’s a deep connection between what we carry during the day and how we rest at night. The fatigue and pressure you feel are real, and we’re asking God to meet you in that weariness, to grant you not just hours of sleep, but the kind of rest that reaches your soul. He cares about your body and your peace, and sometimes the most spiritual thing we can do is to receive the gift of rest He offers.

As you keep bringing your financial and job needs before the Lord, maybe consider one small, practical step this week, updating a résumé, reconnecting with a former coworker, or exploring a job listing you’ve been putting off. Action, even small, can help break the cycle of anxiety and open a door you didn’t expect. And for your teeth, we’d gently encourage you to see a dentist if you haven’t already; it’s wisdom to get that sorted out both in prayer and with the help of someone who can actually fix the issue.

We’re also praying with you for a godly wife, that God would guide your steps and prepare both of you for a healthy, lifelong marriage, and for provision for your bills and the Bible resources you need.

Let’s pray briefly now:

Father, thank You that You see every detail of this man’s life. In the quiet of the night, calm his mind and let him sleep deeply. Give him fresh strength and energy for each day. Open a door to good, stable work with a fair salary, and provide for his bills and the resources he needs. Help him get his teeth taken care of, and in Your time, bring a godly wife into his life. We ask all this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

You bring a long catalogue of wants, and every one of them lies open before the Lord, who knows your need before you ask. Yet it is well that you have spread them out; He invites you to cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. When I read your request, I thought of a soul stirred by many anxieties, and I would urge you, first of all, to see that your inmost trust is fixed upon Christ alone. Let Him be your chief treasure, and these other things shall be added at His wise pleasure.

You ask for sleep, for work, for strength and energy. Our gracious God does not begrudge His children such common mercies. He gives His beloved sleep, and He renews the weary. Yet I have sometimes found that when a man cannot sleep, it is because he has forgotten that the Lord is his shepherd, and he will not lie down in green pastures but keeps fretting upon the hilltops. Commit your way unto the Lord; lie still in His hands. As for work and the salary you desire, remember the promise: “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” You plead for a job with a salary, that you may pay your bills. Honest labour is blessed, and the Lord will not see the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. But put your care for mammon into the background, and trust Him who fed Elijah by the brook Cherith.

You pray for a godly wife. This is a holy desire, for a prudent wife is from the Lord. Yet let me caution you: the marriage of two souls is a solemn type of that union between Christ and His Church. Do not be hasty; let not your eye be caught by mere appearance, but wait for one who fears the Lord. A true marriage is cemented by mutual love and, above all, by a common delight in the Lamb. And while you seek a helpmeet, see to it that your own soul is betrothed most dearly to Christ, for there is no earthly marriage that will satisfy the heart like the marriage supper of the Lamb, when the Bridegroom shall be manifested and we shall be forever with Him. That is the blessed hope.

Your teeth trouble you, and your body cries out for strength. The frame is but dust, yet the Lord is mindful of it. He knows your sickness and your pain. But I would have you learn even in toothache to say, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him.” The hypocrite runs to God only in great extremities; the sincere soul meets Him hourly, knowing his perpetual needs and His perpetual gifts. So bring these small trials to the throne, and believe that He who arranged the stars arranges also the appointment of the dentist’s chair for your good.

You mention Bible resources and facsimiles. It is well to prize the sacred page, but take care that you are not coveting rare manuscripts when the plain Word is enough. The oil for the golden lamp must be pure, the unadulterated truth of revelation. We need no gilded margins to possess the power of the Spirit. The Lord will provide what is needful; and if He withholds a costly volume, it may be that He would teach you to feed on the sincere milk of the Word in a cheaper edition, and to practice it with greater zeal. The best commentary is a life lived in subjection to Christ.

You have prayed for certain souls, whom you have named before the Lord. Continue in that intercession, for the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Even the ungodly are often spared and blessed because of the godly among them. Who can tell how many a prodigal is hedged into safety by a mother’s prayers? But remember, salvation comes only through the Lamb; if your friends will not have the atoning sacrifice, they reject the only remedy. Give them no rest until they flee to Christ.

Now let me point you to the one unfailing source of refuge. Everything else may totter, your health, your hopes of a wife, your purse, but “the Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.” I have known men faced with a terrible dilemma, who thought they must lose their employment for conscience’ sake, and yet God took care of them in a famine. Commit yourself entirely into His hands; you cannot err, for He will never do you an unkindness. Then you may wear a breastplate which the darts of care cannot pierce.

Above all, look to the coming marriage of the Lamb. When that day dawns, all the pains of this present time will appear as nothing. The Church is now like a forlorn woman, but she shall be brought home with gladness. You, if your faith is in Jesus, are betrothed to Him today by inseparable bonds. Let that betrothal sweeten the waiting days and make you patient for the lesser gifts. The Lord bless you, and give you peace.

You bring a long list of needs before the church, sleep, work, strength, dental care, a godly wife, money for bills, a salaried job, Bible resources. These are not small things, yet consider what is most necessary. The present life is a sleep, and the things in it are no different from dreams. He who sleeps sees not things that truly exist, spiritual, heavenly, abiding things, but chases fleeting shadows. Riches are a dream, and glory, and every bodily comfort. Do not be like a man who shouts in his sleep, grasping at phantoms.

You ask for sleep. The body’s rest comes from nature, often against our will. But the soul’s wakefulness is in our own power. It is possible to sleep while awake, by doing nothing good. Let us watch and be sober. For drunkenness of soul comes not only from wine, but from the desire of wealth, from carnal lust, from every sin. These weigh down the heart and make true rest impossible. Guard yourself, lest you fall into that sleep of vice. He who keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps, and if you stand steadfast and unmovable, you will not be shaken.

You pray for work and for a salary to pay your bills. The Apostle says, If any man will not work, neither let him eat. So then, seek employment with diligence, not making provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts, but only for health and necessity. For to go beyond necessaries is to light up a flame in a furnace. Do not be anxious about tomorrow; cast your care upon the Lord, who knows your needs. The jailer, when the earthquake shook his prison, cried out not for his chains but for salvation. How much more should we seek first the kingdom, trusting that all these things will be added.

You desire a godly wife. Marriage is not condemned, it is not an impure state, but it brings many worldly distractions. If you marry, seek a bride adorned not with gold or braided hair, but with gentleness, modesty, and shamefacedness. Yet remember: he who abstains from marriage for the Lord’s service has leisure to attend upon Him without distraction. If you seek such leisure, do not waste it, but perform services to the saints and strangers. And if you fall into sin, despair not; he that falls may rise again.

For your teeth, make provision for the flesh for health’s sake, as Paul counseled Timothy to use a little wine for his stomach. But do not let this care dominate you. The body is a servant, not a master.

You ask for Bible resources. It is a good desire to have the Scriptures, but the true offering to God is a virtuous soul. As much as a man is superior to a sheep, so much is the sacrifice of your own life greater than any gift of money. Bring that offering first. And while you intercede for those you named, examine yourself. Let no one come to the spiritual fountain carelessly. What does it profit if you gain the whole world and lose your own soul? Let your cry echo the jailer’s: What must I do to be saved? Then watch, work, pray, and stand firm. If you have been sluggish, awake, you who sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light.

Your request touches on so many needs at once, rest, work, provision, health, companionship. There is a weariness in the soul that makes sleep feel elusive, and a weight of responsibility that can keep the mind spinning through the night. Yet the Scriptures remind us that sleep itself is a gift, and that the Lord watches over His own even in their exhaustion. There was one who lay down with a stone for a pillow, exhausted from his journey, and in his sleep God gave him a vision of a ladder reaching from earth to heaven. He woke knowing the Lord was truly in that place. That same Lord attends your bedside tonight. Ask Him for the sleep He gives His beloved, and trust that He can quiet the thoughts that race when the light goes out.

As for work and finances and the bills that keep coming due, the Proverbs do warn that a little slumber, a little folding of the hands, brings poverty like an armed man. But the same wisdom tells us diligence is a path the Lord establishes. He knows your need for a salary, for enough to pay what you owe and to obtain the resources you desire for studying the Scriptures. Keep seeking the work, keep putting your hand to what is in front of you, and trust that God is more fair than any earthly judge. He will not forget your labor or your need.

The longing for a godly wife is a good and honorable desire. The Scriptures are wonderfully candid about marriage, it is for companionship, for the avoidance of immorality, for the delight of a husband in his wife and a wife in her husband, and for the raising of children who may walk in the faith from one generation to the next. The Bible does not pretend the path is always simple, nor that finding a wife happens without waiting and wisdom. But it does command that a man look to his own cistern and rejoice in the wife of his youth. That is a prayer worth bringing before the Lord persistently: that He would prepare both of you and bring you together in His time.

Your concern for your teeth and for physical strength also matters. The body is the temporary vessel through which we serve, and its pains and limitations can grind us down. Do not dismiss praying about these things; even when the Bible is silent on specifics, it invites us to cast every care on Him. Where the Word does not prescribe a direct answer, the Holy Spirit still intercedes, and God still provides wisdom and help.

And in all of this, the waiting, the working, the praying, do not push away the godly influences around you. Many a man has headed down a tragic road because he turned away from friends who simply wanted him to walk closely with the Lord. There is safety in the company of those whose hearts God has touched. Let your own faith grow deep roots, and let it be passed on, as one who learns to teach others also. Your life, even in the midst of unanswered questions, becomes a living lesson when you cling to the God who never slumbers nor sleeps. Keep praying. He inclines His ear.
