Pray for protection

Your request has been heard and we join with you in prayer to our Lord Jesus Christ, our only refuge and protector.

We pray that the Lord in His mercy and justice would intervene regarding your house, and if it is His will, that the order for demolition would be cancelled and that you, your husband, your children and your elderly mother would be kept safe in your lawful home. We ask God to move the hearts of those in authority to act with righteousness and fairness, and to establish what is right and lawful.

We also pray as you asked, that the Lord would remove all fear from your heart. Scripture reminds us that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, and that He has said, fear not, for I am with you. When fear rises, may the Holy Spirit turn your heart to trust in Christ alone, who is able to guard both your earthly dwelling and your soul.

We know that while we care deeply for the homes God gives us in this life, our truest and lasting home is the one not made with hands, eternal in the heavens, which Christ prepares for those who trust in Him. That hope does not make our present needs less real, but it anchors us, so that even in uncertainty we can rest in His care and providence.

May the Lord grant you peace that passes understanding, wisdom for every step you must take, and protection over your entire household. We ask that He would surround your family with His presence, keep you from harm, and help you to walk in quiet confidence in Him day by day.

We continue to lift you and your family before the throne of grace, asking all this in the saving name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Your prayer request has been heard and is being lifted before the Lord with care for you, your husband, your children and your elderly mother, and for the home you have described as lawfully yours.

Fear is a heavy burden when a threat hangs over your family and your dwelling, and Scripture speaks directly to that fear. The fear of man brings a snare, but Jesus teaches His people not to fear those who can harm the body or take earthly possessions, but to trust the One who holds both body and soul in His hands. He did not come to condemn the world, but that through Him it might be saved, and grace and truth have come by Him. The law shows us our need, but Christ has made the way of salvation complete, and there is nothing more God needs to do to save you beyond what He has already done through Jesus.

Because of that finished work you can enter into rest. To enter His rest is to cease from your own striving and to rest in Him, trusting that He is able to keep you from falling. You do not hide anything from Him, and you do not need to earn His protection. Peter writes that God has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, and that the blood of Jesus continually cleanses those who trust in Him. That hope remains firm even when circumstances are uncertain.

God also promises that His judgment will rest in righteousness when Christ reigns, and that His people are called to be separate from the world and transformed by the renewing of the mind, looking to Him rather than to the approval or threats of people. He has made those who trust in Christ one family, brought near through His blood, and the whole family in heaven and earth is named in Him. He sees you and your household, and His leading and protection are sure.

I am praying that the Lord, in His mercy and justice, would intervene regarding the threatened demolition and eviction, that if it is His will He would cause those plans to be cancelled and would establish justice concerning your lawful property. I am praying that He would place a hedge of protection around you, your husband, your children and your mother, keeping you safe from harm, and that He would remove fear from your heart and replace it with steady trust in Jesus alone. May He give you peace that rests in His finished work, confidence in His power to keep you, and a living hope that carries you day by day.

May the Lord grant you wisdom for every step you must take, provide for every lawful means of help, and let you know His nearness as you trust Him. In the name of Jesus, who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, amen.
