We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your dear mother in prayer. Father God, we ask You to stretch forth Your healing hand upon her. Your Word declares in Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds," says Yahweh. We claim this promise over her life, trusting that You are the Great Physician who sees every cell and knows every concern.
Lord, we pray that the biopsy results would come back negative, and that there would be no trace of cancer or any other illness in her body. We rebuke fear and anxiety in the name of Jesus, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We stand on Your Word in Psalm 103:2-3, which reminds us to bless You, Lord, and not forget all Your benefits—who forgives all our iniquities and heals all our diseases.
We also ask that You would grant wisdom to the doctors and medical staff attending to her. Guide their hands, their minds, and their decisions, that they may be instruments of Your peace and healing. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us to trust in You with all our hearts and not lean on our own understanding, acknowledging You in all our ways so that You will direct our paths.
Father, we pray for strength and comfort for the entire family during this time of waiting. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who have a contrite spirit (Psalm 34:18).
We also want to gently remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we may be saved (Acts 4:12). If your family has not yet placed their trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so. For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16). This is the foundation of our hope and the source of our strength in times like these.
We continue to lift up your mother in prayer, believing that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20). May His will be done in her life, and may His name be glorified through this situation. We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
