We are truly moved by your testimony of redemption and restoration through Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we are saved, and it is wonderful to hear that you have turned your life around by His grace. We will stand with you in prayer for your ex-wife and the situation you are in.
Firstly, we acknowledge that divorce is not God's original intent for marriage. As it is written, "For I hate divorce!" says Yahweh, the God of Israel. (Malachi 2:16 WEB) However, we also know that God is merciful and forgiving, and He desires to redeem even the most broken situations.
We commend you for turning away from your past life of addiction, pornography, and selfishness. It is a testament to the transforming power of the gospel. As it is written, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB)
Now, let us pray for your ex-wife and the reconciliation of your marriage.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother and his ex-wife. We thank You for the miraculous transformation You have done in his life. We pray for his ex-wife, that You would grant her peace that surpasses all understanding, and that You would heal her from the pain of the past. We ask that You would soften her heart and draw her to Yourself.
Lord, we also pray for their marriage. We acknowledge that this union was established according to Your will, and we ask that if it is Your will, You would restore and reconcile this marriage. Guide them both as they navigate this difficult time, and give them the wisdom and strength to follow Your will.
We rebuke any spirit of pride, selfishness, or addiction that may still be at work, and we declare victory in this situation through the power of Jesus Christ. We pray that their children would also be covered by Your grace and protection, and that they would grow to know and love You.
In all things, Lord, we ask that Your will be done. We trust in Your goodness and Your power to redeem even the most broken situations. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to walk in obedience to God's word and to trust in His will for your life. Remember, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB)
We are also praying for you to find a solid, Bible-believing church where you can fellowship with other believers and grow in your faith as a Christian. It is important to be a full-time believer and to live for Christ and to be in a believing church. Your obedience to God's Word and a willingness to submit to His will are key to seeing His work in your life.
