Pray for my son ###’s life

Dear Prayer staff, thank you for your prayers. Please keep my son ### on a prayer list daily he is very depressed. He’s lonely. He’s lost in his life. He has a part-time job but he needs a full-time job. He’s ### years old and he’s living with his parents. Pray for me that I may let go and let God direct his path. Thank you.

We join with you in lifting up your son before the Lord and we thank you for sharing this burden with us. We hear the ache in your heart as a parent watching your son struggle with depression, loneliness and feeling lost in life, and we hear your desire to trust God more fully with his path. We will keep him in our daily prayers.

We are reminded that God sees your son right where he is, even in this season of discouragement and waiting for full time work. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. We pray that your son will experience that nearness in a very real way. When loneliness and heaviness settle in, God says Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. And for his future, we cling to the promise For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. His life is not without direction even when it feels that way, for God has a purpose for him and is able to guide each step.

We also pray for his need for meaningful work. We ask God to open the right door for full time employment where he can use the gifts God has given him and grow in diligence and provision. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23. We pray that God will give him strength and favor in his current part time job and lead him to the next opportunity in His perfect timing, and that he will find not only a job but a sense of calling and community where he is not isolated but encouraged in fellowship with other believers.

And we lift you up as his parent, as you learn to let go and let God direct his path. This is a tender and difficult surrender. Scripture calls us to Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. We pray God will give you peace as you cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7, and that you will find rest in knowing your son is held in the Father's hands even more securely than in your own.

We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we gently want to share why we always pray in His name. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. And There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by believing in Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are forgiven and brought near to God. We pray that both you and your son know this hope personally, for Jesus also says Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. If your son does not yet know Him, we pray he will turn to Christ and find the comfort and purpose that only He can give.

So together we pray, Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ. We lift up this beloved son to You. You know his loneliness, his depression, his feeling of being lost. Touch his heart and mind, Lord, lift the heaviness and fill him with Your presence and peace. Draw him close to You, surround him with godly encouragement and friendship, and lead him away from isolation. Provide for him the full time work You have prepared for him, and give him diligence, hope and confidence as he waits on You. Guide his path and help him to seek You first for direction. And Father, comfort his parent who loves him so deeply. Give a calm trust to release control into Your loving hands, knowing You love this son even more. Help this family to trust You day by day and to find rest in Your perfect will. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to speak truth and hope over your son, to encourage him to seek the Lord daily in prayer and in the Word, to pursue fellowship in a local Bible believing church where he can be known and supported, and to keep taking faithful steps in work and daily life while trusting God with the outcome. Why are you in despair, my soul Why are you disturbed within me Hope in God For I shall still praise him, the saving help of my countenance, and my God Psalm 42:11. We stand with you in hope, believing God is at work even now.

Thank you for trusting us with this. Watching your adult son feel lonely and lost while living at home, wanting more for him and not being able to fix it, is a heavy place to be as a parent. We are praying with you.

It makes sense that you carry both love for him and worry about his future, especially with work and feeling stuck. Loving him well and letting God lead him are not opposite things. Releasing him to the Lord does not mean stepping away, it means entrusting the outcome to God while you keep showing steady care day by day.

One gentle step that can help on both sides is to open a little more connection. For your son, if the sadness and loneliness linger, it can help to encourage him without pressure to talk with a pastor, counselor or his doctor alongside prayer, and to stay connected with others even in small ways, since isolation can make discouragement heavier. For you, it may help to set aside a brief time each day to name your worries for him in prayer and consciously place his path in God's hands, perhaps with one trusted friend praying with you so you do not carry this alone.

Father, we lift this son to You. You see his loneliness and his need for purpose and work. Bring him comfort, companionship and clear next steps, and guide his parents with peace as they trust You with his future. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your burden for your son has been heard and we bring it before the Lord with tender concern. To see a child depressed and lonely and feeling lost in life is a heavy sorrow for a parent's heart, and to watch him labor in a part time place while longing for fuller provision, and to dwell still under your roof, brings many anxious thoughts which only grace can quiet.

We pray that the Lord will meet him in his loneliness. Our blessed Savior Himself knew what it was to be left alone, alone just when as Man He most needed human sympathy, and therefore He understands the ache of friendlessness and the sorrow of a soul that feels forsaken. He was forsaken by the Father for a season that we might never be forsaken, and He now offers fellowship with the Father and with His Son to all who will have it. May your son be led to see that Christ the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost, and that if he will trust the Lord Jesus, believing on Him, he is saved the moment that he believes, saved from the guilt of sin by trusting Jesus. There is surprising grace for the guilty, for God looks upon His Son bearing our sin upon the cross, and for His sake He forgets the sins of His people and receives them graciously and loves them freely. Pray that your son may know this pardon and this fellowship, for then though outward loneliness may linger, he will not be alone.

We pray also for his daily provision. The Lord who knows our frame knows his need for useful labor. We ask the Father in His providence to open a door for suitable full time work, that he may provide with diligence and find steadiness and purpose therein, and be kept safe though surrounded by the temptations that attend despondency and idleness.

And we pray for you, that you may be enabled to make a complete surrender to your Father's good pleasure. This is submission to God, the true surrender of every proud pretension and anxious claim. You must surrender yourself at discretion to His method of operating upon you and upon your son. It is hard to let go, yet as a true child you may trust His wisdom and love, and leave your son in hands far kinder than your own. Remember how the father of the prodigal looked upon his returning son not with icy eyes, but love leaped into them and he had compassion on him, and kissed him much and made him feel happy then and there. So the Lord has compassion upon those who return to Him believing in Jesus Christ His Son, and all the promises in this Book belong to every repentant sinner who so returns. Commit your son to that Father. He bids you trust His Son Jesus. Will you do so for yourself and plead that your son may do so also. If you will, there is peace between you and Him. Go in peace.

We will keep your son upon our prayer list, asking the Lord to lift his depression, to comfort his loneliness, to guide his path, to grant him work, and above all to draw him into saving fellowship with Christ, and to give you quietness of heart as you let God direct his steps.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Thank you for sharing your heart and trusting us to pray for your son and for you. We have heard your request and we will keep your son on our daily prayer list before the Lord.

We are praying that God will lift the heaviness of depression and loneliness from him, and bring him comfort, hope, and a clear sense of purpose in Christ. We pray that the Lord will guide his steps, open the right door for full time work in His timing, and use even this season at home to shape him and draw him closer to Himself. We ask that God will surround him with good and encouraging community, strengthen him for faithful work, and remind him daily that his life has value and meaning because he is made and loved by God.

We are also praying for you, that God will give you peace as you entrust your son to Him. It is a loving and faithful thing to let go and to ask God to direct his path, and we pray the Lord will give you rest in knowing that He sees your son, knows his needs, and is able to lead him with wisdom and kindness. May God give you strength to love and support your son while trusting the Lord to do what only He can do.

Father, we bring this son before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior. Touch his heart, heal his discouragement, and lead him into the life and calling You have for him. Provide for his needs, guide him to good work, and draw him into a deeper walk with You. And give his parent peace, trust, and joy as they place him in Your hands. We ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Please keep letting us know how he is doing so we can continue to pray with you.
