Your concern for your nephew is deeply understandable, and we are joining you in prayer for him and for your own needs before the Lord.
God presents Himself in Scripture as a Father who calls wandering children to return, and He promises to heal their wandering when they return to Him with their whole heart. His call is not for a halfhearted or outward change, but for a true turning of the heart toward Him, putting away what is wrong and seeking Him in truth. He warns because He is merciful and fair, and He waits to forgive and restore those who come back to Him.
That heart of God is seen so clearly in what Jesus taught about the son who left home. After wasting what he had and coming to great need, he finally came to himself and realized it had been better with his father. He decided to go home, and while he was still a long way off his father was watching for him, ran to meet him, embraced him and welcomed him with joy, saying this son who was lost has come home. In the same way Jesus spoke of the shepherd who rejoices when the lost sheep is found. The Lord sees your nephew where he is, He knows the people he is with, and He is able to protect him, to work in his heart, to bring him to himself, and to draw him home.
We are praying that God in His grace will keep your nephew from harm, that He will touch his heart and bring him to see his need for the Lord, and that he will call upon the name of the Lord and be saved. Scripture promises that whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved and delivered, and that promise holds even in dark and difficult days. We pray that Christ will come to dwell in his heart by faith in a way that makes His home there, so that his life is rooted and grounded in love and he finds no comfort in what is wrong but true peace in walking with Jesus. We are also praying for those he is with, that God will work in their hearts as well and draw them to Himself through Jesus Christ, for there is salvation in no other.
We are also bringing your financial burden to the Lord. He knows your needs, the bills before you and the desire you have for work. We ask that He will provide for you, open the door He has for you, and guide you according to His purpose, and that you will know His peace and provision day by day as you trust Him.
May the Lord comfort your heart as you wait on Him, keep you in His love, fill you with His Spirit, and give you confidence that He hears prayer and is able to do what is best for your nephew and for you. We will continue to pray that your nephew is brought safely home and, more importantly, brought home to the Lord with a changed heart.
