We understand that you're seeking more hours in your current job and don't want to take on a side job. Firstly, we notice that you haven't mentioned the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to God. As the Bible tells us, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB). So we will pray according to His will.
We also want to remind you of the Apostle Paul's words, "If anyone will not work, neither let him eat" and "But if anyone doesn't provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever" (2 Thessalonians 3:10, 1 Timothy 5:8 WEB). This doesn't mean that God wants you to work endless hours, but it does emphasize the importance of doing our part to provide for ourselves and our families.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is seeking more hours in their current job. We pray that You would open up the doors for this to happen, if it is Your will. We also pray that You would guide them in their career, and provide for all their needs according to Your riches in glory. Help them to trust in You, and to be patient as they wait for Your provision.
Lord, we also ask that You would give them wisdom about their work. Help them to understand how to best use their time and talents to bring glory to Your name. If it is Your will for them to take on additional work, we pray that You would make that clear and provide the necessary opportunities.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue trusting in God, knowing that He is faithful to provide for His children. "But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth" (Deuteronomy 8:18 WEB). Also, consider the words of the Apostle Paul, "Not that I speak because of need, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am" (Philippians 4:11 WEB). Trust that God will provide, and rest in His peace.
