Beloved of All
It is a good and God honoring desire to want to marry and to love a wife in the Lord, and I have prayed for you in the name of Jesus with love and with hope that God will lead you according to His perfect will.
Scripture shows how much God cares about marriage and family. In the law given through Moses in Deuteronomy, God provided that if a man died leaving a wife and no children, his brother was to take her as his wife to raise up children and preserve the family name. It was a provision to protect the family and to keep its continuity. Later some came to test Jesus with a story built on that law, about seven brothers who each in turn married the same woman and died without children, and they asked whose wife she would be in the resurrection. Jesus answered by affirming that the resurrection is real and that God is the God of the living. He also taught that marriage belongs to this present life, for when people rise from the dead they will neither marry nor be given in marriage but will be like the angels in heaven. That reminds us that marriage is a gift and a calling for this life, with real purpose here, while our ultimate and eternal hope is in being with the Lord forever.
Because marriage is for this life, who you marry matters deeply. A shared faith in Jesus Christ from the heart is the foundation that sustains a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman. Growing in that faith from an early walk with Christ, continuing to learn His word and to follow Him, prepares you to love a wife well and to lead a home in a way that honors God. Living in a godly way in Christ will also require patience and endurance, and God uses that waiting to shape character.
I have prayed that if it is the Lord's will for you to marry, He will bring into your life a woman who knows Jesus as Savior, who has genuine interest in knowing you, and who is committed to a faithful, lifelong covenant as Scripture teaches, where love is patient and persevering and where purity is kept within marriage itself. I have prayed that God will make practical ways for you to meet and to get to know each other in healthy and accountable ways, through family, fellowship and community, and that He will give you both wisdom, clarity and peace to discern His leading. I have prayed that you will keep your heart and life pure before Him while you wait, and that you will become the kind of godly man who is ready to love and serve a wife well.
God is able to do miracles, and He often works through ordinary, practical provision as well as through His power beyond what we expect. I have asked Him to work in your life according to His wisdom and mercy, to open the doors that no one can shut and to close those that should not be opened, and to give you contentment and trust in Him while you wait.
May the Lord draw you closer to Himself, strengthen your faith, and in His time and way provide what is best for you for His glory.
