Beloved of All
We have received your prayer request and we thank you for sharing your heart so openly. We will pray for you in the name of Jesus Christ, asking God to show his love and mercy in your life according to his good will.
We pray that the Lord, if it is his will for you to marry, will bring into your life a woman who shares faith in Jesus Christ and who desires a lifelong covenant of marriage as God ordained it, one man and one woman, lived in faithfulness and purity. We pray that he will make it possible in practical and orderly ways for you to get to know each other well, with time, wisdom and the help of your church family, so that your relationship may grow in chasteness, gravity and honor. We pray that God will give you both genuine interest in one another, patience and perseverance, and a commitment that seeks not only feeling but holiness and faithfulness.
Scripture teaches that marriage is honorable and is a bond ordained by God. It preserves the holiness that comes through faith when it is lived in purity, with each remaining true to the other and not giving place to fornication. While you wait, we encourage you to keep guarding the gift you have received through faith, to live a life worthy of that gift, and to pursue purity and self restraint. As you seek a wife, seek first to be faithful to Christ, to be prayerful and diligent in good works, and to use this season to grow in character and devotion to him.
We also pray that God will work in your life in ways that only he can, and that you will see his provision and guidance clearly. May he give you contentment in his timing, wisdom to recognize his leading, and peace to trust him. We will continue to pray that the Lord will lead you to the woman he wants for you, that you may love her as Christ loves the church, and that your future marriage, if God grants it, will be full of faith, love and steadfastness.
